Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleQuality Measurements on the Radio Interface of the Mobile Communication in the Proximity of the Power SystemSaid Ghnimi, Adnen Rajhi, Ali Gharsallah, Fakhreddine KhlifaProblem statement: The electric power lines and its associated equipments generally produce an electromagnetic noise in their environment, which are likely to have dangerous effects on propagation environment to the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) cellular mobile network. Approach: In this study, we analyzed the characteristics of the power line noise and its correlation with the GSM burst; showing … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 26 Mar 2015 · 7,000 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn M-Learning System Based on Mobile Phones and Quick Response CodesHend S. Al-KhalifaProblem statement: Many instructors in academia wish to know how much their students understand the content of the lecture; however, doing this manually will be very difficult and time consuming. Similarly, most students have communication problems with their instructors and they wish if they can ask their questions without any fear. So a need for a technology to bridge these … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 9 Mar 2011 · 6,931 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Automatic Transformation Method from the E3value Model to IFML Model: An MDA ApproachNassim Kharmoum, Soumia Ziti, Yassine Rhazali, Fouzia OmaryNowadays the software industry has known a significant growth, while the end-users have become very demanding. In this sense, the model transformation has become one of the essential solutions to ensure competitiveness in the field of the software industry domain. For that, the Object Management Group (OMG) proposes for the Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) approach three abstraction levels, namely Computation Independent … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 6 · 12 Jun 2019 · 7,896 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMapping Gamification Mechanisms to User Experience Factors for Designing User InterfacesNahed Alsaleh, Reem AlnanihHealthy living applications have been proposed as an ideal tool for behavior change. The use of gamification in healthcare interventions is gaining popularity, but there is still a need to clarify how to employ the benefit of this technology for managing children’s behavior. This paper proposes a new approach for mapping Gamification Mechanism (GM) to User Behavior Techniques (UBTs) considering … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 5 · 30 May 2019 · 7,911 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExperimental Study: The Effects of Mobile Phone Icons Characteristics on Users’ Age GroupsSyed Ghayas, Salim Amor Al-Hajri, Suziah SulaimanMobile phone applications interfaces offer great support to various age group users. There is a lot of Mobile Human Computer Interaction (here after HCI) research work going on, which is found in User Experience – UX issues. Until now little research work is done on Mobile phone icons and its effect on learn ability for various age group users. Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCOMMON FRAMEWORK: A HYBRID APPROACH TO INTEGRATE CROSS-PLATFORM COMPONENTS IN MOBILE APPLICATIONJoachim Perchat, Mikael Desertot, Sylvain LecomteThere is a multitude of mobile OS: iOS android, Windows Phone 8 and each OS provides its own standards and tools. This heterogeneity in the mobile domain forces developers to implement an application for each mobile platform. To achieve that, developers need to master several languages (Java, Objective-C...). They also need to have several devices at their disposal (PC, Mac, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 22 Jul 2014 · 8,947 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractE2AODV Protocol for Load Balancing in Ad-Hoc NetworksR. Vinod Kumar, R. S.D. Wahida BanuProblem statement: In mobile ad hoc networks there are a number of challenges in providing quality of service routing with energy efficiency and load balancing. Most routing protocols do not consider the problem of load balance. A routing protocol called energy Efficient Ad-hoc on Demand Vector (E2AODV) is proposed. It addresses the quality of service issues such as throughput, end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 7 Jul 2012 · 6,832 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdaptable Service Component Interface Framework in Pervasive ComputingR. Vasanthi, R. S.D. WahidabanuProblem statement: Pervasive computing refers to visionary new ways of applying Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to our daily lives. Interoperability among pervasive networked systems, in particular accounting for the heterogeneity of protocols from the application down to the middleware layer, which is mandatory for today's and even more for tomorrow's open and highly heterogeneous networks.
