For developers and indexers
Machine endpoints
Everything the site offers to software rather than people: harvesting, feeds, sitemaps, citation files and metadata tags.
| Endpoint | Address | Who uses it | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| OAI-PMH | /oai?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&set=jcs /oai?verb=Identify | Harvesters and library catalogues | OAI-PMH 2.0. Formats oai_dc and jats (the article’s front matter); one set per journal, named by its code; 100 records or 500 identifiers a response, with a resumption token. Dates are publication dates; no deleted records. |
| Sitemaps and robots | /robots.txt /sitemap.xml /sitemap-site.xml /sitemap-<journal>.xml | Search engines | Made on request and kept for an hour. The index lists the site’s own sitemap and one sitemap a journal (its articles and their full text pages, newest first). |
| RSS feeds | /feed/recently_published.rss /feed/<journal>/current.rss /feed/<journal>/issue-<n>.rss /feed/announcements.rss | Readers, aggregators | Five site-wide feeds: recently published, most cited, most viewed and most downloaded (RSS 1.0 with Dublin Core and PRISM fields) and announcements (RSS 2.0). Each journal has the same four plus its current issue, and every issue its own feed. |
| Citation export | /citation/<suffix>/ris /citation/<suffix>/bibtex /search/export?ids[]=…&format=ris /search/pdfs?ids[]=… | Reference managers | One article, or up to 200 ticked search results in one file (RIS or BibTeX); up to 20 PDFs in one zip. |
| PDF and files | /<journal>/<suffix>.pdf /files/html/<suffix>/… | Readers, Google Scholar | Published PDFs and full-text pictures only. A PDF counts one download a day per address; old PDF addresses redirect, with a canonical Link header; byte ranges are answered. |
| RePEc | /RePEc/abk/ /RePEc/abk/jajeba/<suffix>.rdf | IDEAS / RePEc | American Journal of Economics and Business Administration only. |
| Scholar and metadata tags | <meta name="citation_*"> Dublin Core (DC.*) Open Graph and Twitter cards JSON-LD ScholarlyArticle | Google Scholar, social previews | In the head of every article page. |
| Unsubscribe | /unsubscribe/<code> /alerts/end/<token> /alerts/manage/<token> | Email recipients | One click. The code link stops the office’s contact emails; the alert links stop or change email alerts. Each confirms on a plain page. |
