Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Frame Study for Post-Processing Analysis on System Behavior: A Case Study of Deadline Miss DetectionJunghee Lee, Jongman KimProblem statement: A lot of data can be obtained by system simulation using transaction level models without affecting the performance of the system. Due to huge amount of the raw data, we often need to post-process them to extract valuable information. Profiling capabilities of commercial tools provide predefined functionalities and don’t allow users to add or modify for their own … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 22 Nov 2010 · 6,741 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEmbedding Malaysian House Red Ant Behavior into an Ant Colony SystemZ. A. Othman, H. M. Rais, A. R. HamdanProblem statement: Ant Colony System (ACS) is the most popular algorithm used to find a shortest path solution in Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). Several ACS versions have been proposed which aim to achieve an optimum solution by adjusting pheromone levels. However, it still has a room on an improvement. This research aims to improve the algorithm by embedding individual Malaysian … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,961 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleStochastic Behavior of Redundant Complex System with Two Types of FailureG. S. Mokaddis, M. Salah EL-Sherbeny, Entesar Al-EsayehProblem statement: This study presented the reliability and Mean Time To System Failure (MTTF) analysis of a two-state complex with repairable system, consisting of two sub-systems A and B arranged in series, incorporating the concept of hardware and human failures. The failure times of operating units and repair time of failed units were exponential distributed. Approach: Markov-renewal processes and properties … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,100 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleStochastic Behavior of a Two-Unit Warm Standby System with Two Types of Repairmen and Patience TimeG. S. Mokaddis, M. Salah EL-Sherbeny, Y. Mahmoud AyidProblem statement: In this study we investigated the probabilistic analysis of a two-unit warm standby system with constant failure rate and two types of repairmen and patience time. The first repairman, usually called regular repairman, always remained with the repair facility, with the known fact that he might not be able to do some complex repairs within some tolerable (patience) … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2009 · 7,751 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsModeling the Semantics of States and State MachinesSabah Al-FedaghiA system’s behavior is typically specified through models such as state diagrams that describe how the system should behave. According to researchers, it is not clear what a state actually represents regarding the system to be modeled. Standards do not provide adequate definitions of or sufficient guidance on the use of states. Studies show these inconsistencies can lead to poor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 7 · 14 Jul 2020 · 6,974 accessesView PDFCite
