Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExpanding the Rapeseed Cultivation Area in the South and South-Eastern Regions of Kazakhstan with the Introduction of its Winter VarietyGaliolla T. Meiirman, Sakysh T. Yerzhanova, Serik S. Abayev et al.The paper examines the data on 86 rapeseed samples of various ecological and geographical origins, which were subjected to a long-term selection study with the criterion of winter hardiness to create a new Kazakhstani variety of winter rapeseed. For selection, plant indicators are used in terms of the number of leaves (at least 7), the diameter of the root collar … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 22, Issue 1 · 11 Feb 2022 · 6,583 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntroduction of the Pasture Plant Fescue (Festuca valesiaca) for the Improvement of Degraded Pastures in the Steppe Zone of KazakhstanMeldebekova Nurgul Alikhanovna, Seitbattalova Ainur Islamovna, Ainebekova Bakyt Alpysbaevna et al.This study presents the results of a comprehensive evaluation of Festuca valesiaca, a dominant perennial grass species widely used in steppe ecosystems for pasture improvement. Previous research has demonstrated the importance of native fescue species in enhancing productivity and resilience of degraded rangelands under arid conditions. However, breeding efforts for this species in Kazakhstan remain insufficiently developed. The research was … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 26, Issue 3 · 14 Sep 2026 · 662 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleINVESTIGATING EFFECTS OF INTRODUCTION OF CORNCOB ASH INTO PORTLAND CEMENTS CONCRETE: MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTIESAntonio Price, Ryan Yeargin, Ellie Fini, Taher Abu-LebdehThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the benefits of replacing Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) with Corncob Ash (CCA) blended cements. The cement industry contributes considerable amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions into the atmosphere. The main contribution of CO2 emissions from cement production results from the process of creating Calcium Oxide (CaO) from limestone (CaCO3) commonly known as … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2014 · 9,813 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntroduction, Classification and Applications of Smart Materials: An OverviewSusmita KamilaSmart materials are common name for a wide group of different substances. The general feature of all of them is the fact that one or more properties might be significantly altered under controlled condition. The present age is considered to be the smart materials era. Earlier, smart material was defined as the material, which responds to its environments in a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 24 Jul 2013 · 13,076 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Effect of a 4th Generation-Cephalosporin Introduction upon the Incidence of Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacteria in a Non-Teaching HospitalGuilherme Henrique Campos Furtado, Luciana Baria Perdiz, Eduardo Alexandrino Servolo MedeirosProblem statement: Antimicrobial resistance is a worrisome situation in hospitals around the world and the misuse of certain classes of antimicrobials has contributed for this situation. Approach: We performed a prospective surveillance study on the incidence of multi-drug resistant bacteria before (phase 1) and after (phase 2) the introduction of a 4th-generation cephalosporin in a non-teaching hospital. Results: There was … …American Journal of Infectious Diseases, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 6,876 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntroduction to Fundamental Concepts of Spectroscopy Using the Lhires III SpectrographIvan Dario Arellano Ramirez, Angelica Maria Guapacha, Jairo Alberto Aguirre GalvisThis article proposes and analyzes the use of the high-resolution Lhires III spectrograph as a pedagogical tool for teaching-learning concepts of optical spectroscopy. A methodology was developed and it was tested in a population of 20 students from different engineering programs at the Technological University of Pereira, Colombia. The methodology was implemented through a guide, which describes the 3 experiments … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 12 · 22 Dec 2017 · 8,227 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Brief Introduction to the Bird Strike Numerical SimulationAniello Riccio, Roberta Cristiano, Salvatore SaputoBird impacts can be extremely critical events for the air transport safety. Since aircraft structures have become more and more complex components, the numerical prediction of the damage onset and evolution induced by a bird impact has become a very challenging task. The aim of this work is to provide a brief overview of the numerical techniques adopted for the … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 4 Nov 2016 · 8,667 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntroduction of Three Complementary Technologies into Clinical Medicine: Development of New Diagnostic and Prognostic ParametersGernot P. Tilz, Marco Wiltgen, Ulrike Demel et al.Molecular medicine leads us to understand some diseases at the molecular level. Examples are the analysis of immune complexes and receptor - anti receptor compounds used in clinical medicine. Structural changes of some serum proteins occur in inflammation, neoplasie and autoimmunity. The detection and analysis of such structural modifications may offer a new field for the diagnosis, prognosis and therapy … …American Journal of Immunology, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2006 · 6,956 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntroduction to the Besov Spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin Spaces for Hermite and Laguerre expansions and some applicationsA. Iris, P. LopezWe introduced new definitions of Besov spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces associated with multidimensional Hermite expansions and multidimensional Laguerre expansions. We showed that the set of p-integrable functions is a Triebel-Lizorkin space with respect to the Gaussian measure and similarly, with respect to the probabilistic Gamma measure. Also, we showed that the Gaussian Sobolev spaces and Laguerre Sobolev spaces are Triebel-Lizorkin … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 7,580 accessesView PDFCite
