Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHardware and Software Components of an Oysters' Gape Measurement SystemAmin Ali, Kamal Ali, Aaugustine Ukpebor et al.In this work, the hardware and software used in developing a bivalve gape measurement system is explored. This system employs the Hall-effect phenomenon to accurately measure and report the gape of a bivalve. The system uses a Hall Effect sensor (Symmetry Electronics’ H2425) and a small magnet in which both are glued to the exterior of the shells of a … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 3 · 7 Sep 2019 · 8,762 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign Dynamic Coupling Measurement of Distributed Object Oriented Software Using Trace EventsS. Babu, R. M.S. ParvathiProblem statement: A common way to define and measure coupling is through structural properties and static code analysis. However, because of polymorphism, dynamic binding and the common presence of unused code in commercial software, the resulting coupling measures are imprecise as they do not perfectly reflect the actual coupling taking place among classes at run-time. For example, when using static … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,934 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS AND MODELING USING CESFAMBTM SOFTWARE OF THE PRODUCT GAS COMPONENTS ON THE 2MWTH GASIFIER PLANTI.V. Dyakov, G.V. Baron, S. Bram et al.The work assesses the performance of a prototype 2MWth plant as an auxiliary source of energy based on biomass gasification using wood pellets as a fuel. During steady operation, process temperature, process pressure and concentrations of components in the product gas have been measured the measurements are compared to the simulation results obtained with the CeSFaMBTM software. The underlying model … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 1 Dec 2014 · 6,545 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMeasurement of Software Maintainability Using a Fuzzy ModelK. K. Aggarwal, Yogesh Singh, Pravin Chandra, Manimala PuriSoftware maintenance is a task that every development group has to face when the software is delivered to the customers' site, installed and is operational. The time spent and effort required for keeping software operational consumes about 40-70% of cost of entire life cycle. This study proposes a four parameter integrated measure of software maintainability using a fuzzy model. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2005 · 6,957 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMeasurements of Mitral Annular Displacement in 2D Echocardiography ImagesFaten A. Dawood, Rahmita W. Rahmat, Suhaini B. Kadiman et al.Mitral Annular Displacement (MAD) in echocardiography has been described as a variation in mitral annulus position between the end-diastolic and the end-systolic in a complete cardiac cycle. It could be used as a rapid and reproducible method of determining the LV global systolic function and could be an easily detectable index for wall motion abnormalities. In this study, a computational … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 5 · 4 Jul 2015 · 6,850 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsTowards a Reference Model of Software Resources QualityKhaled Almakadmeh, Kenza Meridji, Khalid T. Al-SarayrehInternational standards for software product quality classify software resources as a non-functional requirement for software product. Resources requirements based-standards describe required resources requirements related to software and hardware requirements, in which hardware resources requirements specify requirements relevant to hardware environment in which the software will operate. Whereas, software resources requirements specify sizing and timing requirements required by software product. This … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 2 · 3 Feb 2018 · 7,811 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMeasuring the Software Product Quality during the Software Development Life-Cycle: An International Organization for Standardization Standards PerspectiveRafa E. Al-QutaishProblem statement: The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published a set of international standards related to the software engineering, such as ISO 12207 and ISO 9126. However, there is a set of cross-references between these two standards. Approach: The ISO 9126 on software product quality and ISO 12207 on software life cycle processes had been analysed to investigate the relationships … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 30 May 2009 · 7,856 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvaluating the Effect of Inheritance on the Characteristics of Object Oriented ProgramsThabit S. Mohammed, Hayam K. MustafaThis paper considers a fact that software measures, which many of them were defined many years ago, are still not widely used in software industry, and therefore some additional insights will be gained by investigating Halstead's metrics and use them to propose more software metrics. Since the object oriented approach was considered an active technology for achieving high quality software, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,784 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAlternative Monitoring Approach for IPTVAngel Ignatov, Hristo Toshkov Hristov, Jan Latal et al.IPTV emerged in the late 1990s as a solution for delivering Video on Demand (VoD) and live television over managed networks. Its widespread adoption accelerated after the expansion of broadband internet and the introduction of web technologies such as HTML5 and adaptive streaming protocols (MPEG-DASH and HLS), which enabled television content to be streamed directly through web browsers.
