Archana, S. Raju AbhaikumarProblem statement: Detection of individual’s abnormal human behaviors in the crowd has become a critical problem because in the event of terror strikes. This study presented a real-time video surveillance system which classifies normal and abnormal behaviors in crowds. The aim of this research was to provide a system which can aid in monitoring crowded urban environments. Approach: The proposed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2010 · 7,557 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAutomatic Mouth Localization Using Edge ProjectionMohamed RizonProblem statement: This study presented algorithms to detect mouth from color and intensity images. Approach: First, this algorithm detected the face region in the image and extracts intensity valleys from the face region. Next, the algorithm extracted iris candidates from the valleys and computed the costs for each pair of iris candidates. Finally, a pair of iris candidates was selected … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,877 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAssessment of Useful Life of Lubricants Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Vector Projection Approach (VPA)Surachai Bovornsethanant, Somchai WongwisesProblem statement: In general, engine oil is usually changed as defined by car or lubricant manufacturers, which is according to mileage. However, it was found from past researches that, at the predefined mileage or timeframe, most lubricant is still acceptably usable and efficient. Approach: This research aimed to calculate useful life of lubricant in order to reach its maximum usefulness. … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,640 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEstimation of C*-Integral in Thin T-Sections Subjected to Projection and Remote Loading Base on Elastic Stress Concentration FactorA.R. Gowhari-Anaraki, F. Djavanroodi, S. ShadlouThe finite element method has been used to predict the creep rupture parameter, C*-Integral of flat T-section bar subjected to loaded projection and remote loading with a crack or crack-like flaw introduced in the fillet (i.e., high stress) region of the component. In this study, a new dimensionless creeping crack configuration factor, Q* has been introduced. Power low creeping finite … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,469 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHarmonic Mean Projection Shape Transform for Leaf ClassificationSophia Jamila Zahra, Riza Sulaiman, Seyed M.M. Kahaki, Anton Satria PrabuwonoShape feature extraction has emerged as an important part of computer vision and image processing applications. Identification of shape objects in huge data based on shape similarity still remains a challenging problem due to the similarity of the shapes and existing of classes with similar contour information. This paper presents to investigate the shape analysis for plant leaf classification by … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 9 · 13 Sep 2020 · 6,854 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePeak-to-Average Power Ratio Reduction Using Active Constellation Extension-Projection Onto Convex Sets Combined with Particle Swarm Optimization Added to Space Time Bloc Coding in Multiple Input Multiple Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing SystemAhmed Ouqour, Abdelhamid Louliej, Younes Jabrane et al.When generated Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal is transmitted through a number of antennas in order to achieve diversity or cap any gain (higher transmission rate) then it is known as Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)-OFDM. The full form of MIMO is multi input and multi output where signals are transmitted via multiple antennas instead of only one antenna … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 12 Dec 2012 · 6,989 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMotion Detection and Projection Based Block Motion Estimation Using the Radon Transform for Video CodingShilpa P. Metkar, Sanjay N. TalbarProblem statement: Motion estimation and compensation is the most computationally complex module of video coder. In this study, an innovative algorithm was proposed for a further complexity reduction of the Motion Estimation (ME) module of video coder by employing motion detection prior to motion compensation. Approach: A Motion Detection (MD) module can be added to the video coder in order … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2010 · 7,326 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleClimate Projections of Future Extreme Events in MalaysiaA.H. Syafrina, M.D. Zalina, A. NorzaidaIn Malaysia, extreme rainfall events are often linked to a number of environmental disasters such as landslides, monsoonal and flash floods. In response to the negative impacts of such disaster, studies assessing the changes and projections of extreme rainfall are vital in order to gather climate change information for better management of hydrological processes. This study investigates the changes and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 3 · 21 Mar 2017 · 8,253 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPresents Some Aspects and Applications of Projective GeometryRelly Victoria Virgil PetrescuProjective geometry is that area of geometry that treats geometric figures from the point of view of the perspective and the horizon line, figures that are considered invariable by projection. The origins are found in the Pappus works of Alexandria (4th century AD), which, referring to the results of Apollonius in Perga, introduces the concept of an anarchic report.
