Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleTransformation or Transgression? Institutional Habitus andWorking Class Student IdentityTina Byrom, Nic LightfootProblem statement: Whilst evidence continues to highlight disparity in Higher Education (HE) participation rates across social groups, there continues to be small numbers of young people from social groups 4-7 choosing to go to university. However, university experience varies across the different social groups and differing social positions appear to influence the higher education institution students apply to and secure … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 18 Feb 2012 · 9,615 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleObject Identity, Apparent Motion, Transformation GeometryFelice L. Bedford, Birgitta E. ManssonProblem statement: A classic question in cognition was addressed on how two glimpses separated in time are determined to refer either to the same object or to two different objects, without which coherent perception of the world is not possible. Approach: A general solution was offered in which observers exploit an entire family of geometries. It was argued that a … …Current Research in Psychology, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 30 Jun 2010 · 9,618 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBlockchain-NFV for Smart Digital and Secure Physical Structures in E-Government, Healthcare, and Network SystemsHayder Abdulsattar Nahi, Ebtehal Akeel Hamed, Rusul A. Salman, Akmam Majed MosaThis paper proposed a combined model that melds Blockchain technology with Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to promote many areas, such as smart, secure, and scalable physical and digital infrastructures in E-Government, Healthcare, and Network Systems. The model treats the principal objections in conventional systems, including centralization, slowed service deployment, and restricted safety. By employing decentralized Digital Identity Decentralized identifiers (DIDs), … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 4 · 21 Apr 2026 · 1,319 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Feature Extraction Dual DCT-DWT Image Watermarking Combined with Chaos-Based CryptosystemKumari Rinki, Pushpneel Verma, Tanupriya Choudhury, Bhupesh Kumar SinghAs a result of the emerging technologies such as Internet-of-Things (IoT), data analysis and automation in many aspects of identity, watermarking has become increasingly important. A majority of prior systems focused on watermark embedding and recovery techniques for binary and grey-scale images in one specified region of the cover image, making the system less dependable. This study develops a novel … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 10 · 13 Nov 2021 · 6,094 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA NEW APPROACH OF LOCAL FEATURE DESCRIPTORS USING MOMENT INVARIANTSLee-Yeng Ong, Siong-Hoe Lau, Voon-Chet KooMoment invariants have been widely introduced in recognizing planar objects for a few decades. This is due the robustness of moment function in distinguishing the original identity of object under various two Dimensional (2D) transformations. A set of moments computed from a planar images, represents the global description of an object's shape and geometrical features of an image. Since global … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 29 Dec 2014 · 7,954 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordIntelligent Sensor for Image Control Point of Eigenfaces for Face RecognitionMohamed Lamine Toure, Zou BeijiProblem statement: The sensor for image control point in Face Recognition (FR) is one of the most active research areas in computer vision and pattern recognition. Its practical application includes forensic identification, access control and human computer interface. The task of a FR system is to compare an input face image against a database containing a set of face samples … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 5 · 31 May 2010 · 6,974 accessesView PDFCite
