Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA New Distance Based Route Maintenance Strategy for Dynamic Source Routing ProtocolMuhammad F. Sjaugi, Mohamed Othman, Mohd. Fadlee A. RasidAlthough DSR can respond a route quickly, it yields a long delay when a route is rebuilt. This is because when source node receives RERR packet, it will try to find alternative routes from the route cache. If alternative routes are not available, the source node, then, will enter route discovery phase to find new routes. We introduced a new … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 8,314 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCOMPARATIVE STUDY ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN DYNAMIC WINDOW SECURED IMPLICIT GEOGRAPHIC FORWARDING ROUTING PROTOCOLAbubakar Idris Umar, Zurina Mohd HanapiAn Ideal WSNs should operate with the least possible energy required in order to increase the lifetime of the sensor nodes and at the same time, ensure network connectivity. But the Inherent power limitation makes power-awareness a critical requirement for WSN, this calls for the need to manage energy in sensor nodes. Also In order to ensure successful transmission of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 9 Apr 2014 · 6,859 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEnergy Aware Multiple Constraints Quality of Service Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSenthilkumar Maruthamuthu, Somasundaram SankaralingamProblem statement: This study presents a source based reactive protocol called "Energy Aware Multiple Constraints QoS Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction (EMQRPDM)" for MANET. It is an enhanced version of our previous protocol called "Power aware multiple QoS constraints routing protocol with mobility prediction (PMQRPMP)". It addresses the issues such as routing, mobility and power management in MANET. Approach: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,477 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA New Policy for Path Selection in Dynamic Source Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksRagb O.M. Saleh, Md Yazid Mohd Saman, M. Nordin A. RahmanIn standard DSR protocol, nodes automatically discover and maintain the routes in the network by storing source routes, discovered dynamically on-demand. They maintain route caches that contain the source routes which the node is aware of. Entries are continually updated when new routes are learned and reorder the cached routes according to the traditional shortest path policy. The problem with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 17 May 2013 · 6,216 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsProposing a Hybrid Topological Organization for Non-Misbehaving Nodes with Optimal Path Selection Using Game-Theoretic ApproachKanmani S, M. MuraliIn dynamic communication networks, improvement of energy efficiency is one of the major challenges for reliable communication. By considering this challenge, we focus to develop the topology of the network. In this study, we design a hybrid star-mesh topology for minimizing the latency as well as energy consumption of the network. In the hybrid network topology, the Ad-Hoc On-Demand Multipath … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 10 · 31 Aug 2023 · 5,397 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAcknowledgment based Reputation Mechanism to Mitigate the Node Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Gopalakrishnan, V. Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: The cooperation between the nodes is essential to discover and maintain routes in mobile ad hoc network. Due to the presence of misbehaving nodes, the node cooperation is not always guaranteed as the nodes agreed during the route discovery phase. This phenomenon results in frequent network partitioning and it makes the routing process difficult. It also degrades the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAuthentication Based and Optimized Routing Technique in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksS. Varadhaganapathy, A. M. Natarajan, S. N. SivanandamProblem statement: An Ad hoc network has been defined as a self-organizing, dynamic topology network formed by a group of wireless mobile nodes. Minimal configuration, absence of infrastructure and quick deployment, would make ad hoc networks convenient for emergency situations other than military applications. In recent years, security in Ad hoc Networks as a research topic had started to receive … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,903 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Improved Location aided Cluster Based Routing Protocol with Intrusion Detection System in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Mangai, A. TamilarasiProblem statement: Routing and security are the main challenges for ad hoc networks due to dynamic topology as well as resource constraints. A designed protocol must provide scalable routing with better security. Lack of any central coordination and shared wireless medium makes them more vulnerable to attacks than wired networks. And also resource constraints such as limited energy and size … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 4 Apr 2011 · 7,103 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Novel Routing Technique against Packet Dropping Attack in Adhoc NetworksN. Bhalaji, Sinchan banerjee, A. ShanmugamProblem Statement: Mobile adhoc networks (MANETs) were extensively used in defense and rescue applications. The dynamic topology of MANETs allows nodes to join and leave the network at any point of time. This dynamic property of MANET has rendered it vulnerable to various security attacks. Many trust establishment methods were proposed to increase the security in MANET. In this paper … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2008 · 6,582 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Adaptive Routing Algorithm for Ad hoc Mobile NetworksHamed S. Al-BdourThis research has examined the issues of routing in multi-hop wireless networks of mobile nodes without the need for any existing network infrastructure or administration. This is called ad hoc. The key point of this research article are selecting routing protocols which adapts quickly to routing changes when host movement is frequent, yet requires little or no overhead during periods … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,692 accessesView PDFCite
