Research ArticleOpen accessAn Improved Approach for Detecting Car in Video using Neural Network ModelS. N. Sivanandam, T. Senthil KumarThe study represents a novel approach taken towards car detection, feature extraction and classification in a video. Though many methods have been proposed to deal with individual features of a vehicle, like edge, license plate, corners, no system has been implemented to combine features. Combination of four unique features, namely, color, shape, number plate and logo gives the application a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 1 Sep 2012 · 7,151 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessHybrid Algorithm for Lossless Image Compression using Simple Selective Scan order with Bit Plane SlicingS. N. Sivanandam, A. Pasumpon PandianProblem statement: Identifying the new lossless image compression algorithm for high performance applications like medical and satellite imaging; a high quality lossless image is most important when reproduction which leads to classify the data for decision making. Approach: A new lossless hybrid algorithm based on simple selective scan order with Bit Plane Slicing method is presented for lossless Image compression … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 28 Jul 2012 · 7,484 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAdaptive Channel Equalization Using Multiplicative Neural Network for Rayleigh Faded ChannelP. Sivakumar, N. Chithra, S. N. Sivanandam, M. RajaramProblem statement: Digital transmission over band-limited communication channel largely suffers from ISIS and various noise sources. The presence of ISI and noise causes bit errors in the received signal. Equalization is necessary at the receiver to overcome these channel impairment to recover the original transmitted sequence. Traditionally equalization is considered as equivalent to inverse filtering and implemented using linear-perform under … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 11 · 18 Aug 2011 · 6,931 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAuthentication Based and Optimized Routing Technique in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksS. Varadhaganapathy, A. M. Natarajan, S. N. SivanandamProblem statement: An Ad hoc network has been defined as a self-organizing, dynamic topology network formed by a group of wireless mobile nodes. Minimal configuration, absence of infrastructure and quick deployment, would make ad hoc networks convenient for emergency situations other than military applications. In recent years, security in Ad hoc Networks as a research topic had started to receive … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,903 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAn Optimization of Design for S4-Duty Induction Motor Using Constraints Normalization Based Violation TechniqueR. Subramanian, S. N. Sivanandam, C. VimalaraniProblem statement: Design of Induction motors is an engineering art and needs an extensive experience for obtaining an optimal design solution for a given design problem. An optimized GD2 value for the development of S4 Duty, cage induction motor to meet the specifications of a particular designated application (the location of application is kept as trade secret due to IP … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,057 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessMixed Mode EMI Noise Level Measurement in SMPSR. Dhanasekaran, M. Rajaram, S. N. SivanandamFast switching in SMPS generate large amount of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).The proposed method to determine Common Mode (CM) and Differential Mode (DM) noise of a low power Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) using two-probe approach i.e. using one current probe as an injecting probe and other current probe as receiving probe Common Mode (CM) noise is measured between power line … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 7,410 accessesView PDF Cite
