Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvolutionary Algorithm DefinitionNada M.A. AL-SalamiProblem statement: Most resent evolutionary algorithms work under weak theoretical basis and thus, they are computationally expensive. Approach: This study discussed the use of new evolutionary algorithm for automatic programming, based on theoretical definitions of program behaviors. Evolutionary process adapted fixed and self-organized input-output specification of the problem, to evolve good finite state machine that efficiently satisfies these specifications. Results: … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 10 Dec 2009 · 7,751 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSystem Evolving using Ant Colony Optimization AlgorithmNada M.A. AL-SalamiProblem statement: The goal of automatic programming system is to create, in an automated way, a computer program that enables a computer to solve a problem. It is difficult to build an automatic programming system: They require carefully designed specification languages and an intimate knowledge base. Determine the relevance of mathematical system theory to the problems of automatic programming and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 30 May 2009 · 7,516 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsModeling Malaysia's Energy System: Some Preliminary ResultsAhmad Mohd. YusofProblem statement: The current dynamic and fragile world energy environment necessitates the development of new energy model that solely caters to analyze Malaysia’s energy scenarios. Approach: The model is a network flow model that traces the flow of energy carriers from its sources (import and mining) through some conversion and transformation processes for the production of energy products to final … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 13 Aug 2011 · 7,250 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImplementation and Evaluation of Evolutionary Connectionist Approaches to Automated Text SummarizationUday Kulkarni, Rajesh Shardanand PrasadProblem statement: Text summarization takes care of choosing the most significant portions of text and generates coherent summaries that express the main intent of the given document. This study aims to compare the performances of the three text summarization systems developed by the authors with some of the existing Summarization systems available. These three approaches to text summarization are based … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 23 Oct 2010 · 8,489 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractActivity Surveillance and Hawthorne Effect to Prevent Programming PlagiarismSufian Idris, Norijah Hussin, Syahanim Mohd Salleh, Hairulliza Mohamad JudiProblem statement: Course instructors are facing serious problems in dealing with students who plagiarize programs especially when the number of students in the course is high. Among the proposed approach to handle this problem is by using automatic detection of plagiarism in programming projects. Preventive action is required rather than curing the problem so that programming students get the right … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 26 Oct 2010 · 7,298 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Framework for a Multi-Layered Security of an Automated Programming Code Assessment ToolMohd Fadzli Marhusin, Muhammad Firdaus Zul Kafli, Rossilawati Sulaiman et al.In a learning environment, a low student-lecturer ratio is considered a practical solution by many educational institutions. However, the number of students in information technology is increasing every year. This could lead to a significant increase in the workload of lecturers, who need to evaluate assignments, quizzes and projects. Hence, it is desirable that an automated assessment tool is used … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 18 Sep 2014 · 6,630 accessesView PDF Cite
