Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleField Programmable Gate Arrays based Design, Implementation and Delay Study of Braun's MultipliersMuhammad H. Rais, Mohammed H. Al MijalliProblem statement: Parallel array multipliers are required to achieve high execution speed for Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications. Approach: The purpose of this article is to investigate Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) implementation of standard Braun’s multipliers on Spartan-3AN, Virtex-2, Virtex-4 and Virtex-5 FPGAs using Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL). The delay study was analyzed using … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 22 Oct 2011 · 6,677 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleField Programmable Gate Arrays Based Realization of Truncated MultipliersMuhammad H. Rais, Mohammed H. Al MijalliProblem statement: Due to high cost and non reconfiguration of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) in image processing applications, for example MPEG video compression used in CT scan frames requires real time conditions and the algorithms should be verified and optimized before implementation. Approach: Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) provides reconfiguration and implementation at the same time. Results: The implementation … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 24 Jun 2011 · 6,694 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDrug-Protein Interactions for Clinical Research by Nucleic Acid Programmable Protein Arrays-Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Factor Monitoring Nanoconductometric AssayClaudio Nicolini, Rosanna Spera, Nicola Luigi Bragazzi, Eugenia PechkovaConductometric monitoring of drug-gene and drug-protein interactions is of fundamental importance in the field of molecular pharmacology. Here, we present our main findings and characterizations of an important antiblastic used in neuro-oncology (Temozolomide), interacting with selected proteins that represent predictive biomarkers of the rate survival of the patients, of the outcome of chemotherapy and resistance to drug itself (namely, BRIP1 … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 17 Nov 2014 · 8,506 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Review of Covering Arrays and Their Application to Software TestingBestoun S. Ahmed, Kamal Z. ZamliProblem statement: As a complex logic system, software may suffer from different source of faults. Those faults can be avoided by applying different testing processes. It appears recently that the interaction among the system factors represents a common source of faults. Software function properly, all input factors and their interactions of the software need to be tested i.e., exhaustive testing. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 9 · 23 Jul 2011 · 8,707 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign and Implementation of Novel Artificial Neural Network Based Stock Market Forecasting System on Field-Programmable Gate ArraysMd. Syedul Amin, Md. Mamun, Fazida Hanim Hashim et al.Problem statement: Multiagent system is very proficient and has rules well-suited for financial forecast with its neural network. In financial forecasting, the approach for rules extractions is less pertinent and involves algorithms which are complex. The unsupervised network method lacks in comprehensibility and leads to ambiguity. Approach: The application of neural network technology to real-time processing of financial market analysis … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 12 Sep 2011 · 7,627 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSpartan-3AN Field Programmable Gate Arrays Truncated Multipliers Delay StudyMohammed H. Al MijalliProblem statement: The image processing applications, such as MPEG video compression used in CT scan frames requires real time conditions and the algorithms should be verified and optimized before implementation which cannot be done with Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) because they are not reconfigurable and cost is very high. Approach: The FPGA is a viable technology that could be … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 13 Jun 2011 · 6,428 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvaluation of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) System Capacity with Spatial CorrelationsT. Gunasekaran, K. R. Shankar KumarProblem statement: Today’s wireless technologies just won’t get us to the hyper connectivity of uninterrupted access from any mobile device with unlimited bandwidth at real-time speeds. This is due to the low data throughput and scarcity in spectrum. Approach: Under the condition of uncorrelated antenna elements, capacity of the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system can be increased linearly with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 4 Aug 2011 · 8,108 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Novel Approach to Signal Detection of Sensor Array Units Using 5-3-1 Rule Based Matched Filter Algorithm with Intelligent IdentifiersMahmoud Z. IskandaraniA novel approach to signal detection and identification was developed and tested. The new algorithm was based on provision of tagging a Matched Filter (MF) with identifiers to recognize the source signal with and without noise, so that classification can be carried out. The algorithm was applied successfully to chemical Sensor Array Units (SAU).
