Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION OF IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNIQUES ON A VISION NAVIGATION LINE FOLLOWER ROBOTWalaa E. Elhady, Heba A. Elnemr, Gamal SelimIn a fast growing industrial world, carriers are required to carry products from one manufacturing plant to another which are usually in different buildings or separate blocks. This study intends to automate this sector using vision controlled mobile robots instead of laying railway tracks which are both expensive and inconvenient. To achieve this purpose an autonomous robot with computer vision … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 1 Feb 2014 · 7,746 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Framework of Intelligent Telepresence Robot Based on Stereo VisionWidodo Budiharto, Muchsin Shodiq, Bayu Kanigoro, HutomoThis research reports and presents a BeeBot, BINUS multi-client intelligent telepresence robot, a custom-build robot system specifically designed for teleconference with multiple people. The robot is controlled using computer networks, so the manager/supervisor can direct the robot to the intended person to start a discussion/inspection. People tracking and autonomous navigation are intelligent features of this robot using stereo vision. We … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 1 Jan 2013 · 6,835 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCHILD VIDEO DATASET TOOL TO DEVELOP OBJECT TRACKING SIMULATES BABYSITTER VISION ROBOTHanan Aljuaid, Dzulkifli MohamadThis study presents a Child Video Dataset (CVDS) that has numerous videos of different ages and situation of children. To simulate a babysitter’s vision, our application was developed to track objects in a scene with the main goal of creating a reliable and operative moving child-object detection system. The aim of this study is to explore novel algorithms to track … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 16 Nov 2013 · 8,592 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleVision-Based Real-Time Positioning and Autonomous Navigation System Using Mobile Robot in Indoor EnvironmentsDiop Mamadou, Lim Chot Hun, Lim Tien Sze, Ong Lee YengResearch toward unmanned mobile robot navigation has gained significant importance in the last decade due to its potential applications in the location-based services industry. The increase in construction of large space indoor buildings has made difficulty for humans to operate within such environments. In this study, a mobile robot's indoor navigation algorithm is developed with vision cameras. Using two monocular … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 5 · 17 May 2016 · 7,317 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA VISION-BASED TRAVELLED DISTANCE ESTIMATION ALGORITHM IN AN INDOOR ENVIRONMENT USING A MOBILE ROBOTMamadou Diop, Chot Hun Lim, Tien Sze Lim, Lee-Yeng OngAutonomous navigation for a mobile robot still remains as a challenging area to be explored. In an indoor environment, while GPS is unavailable and wheel encoder suffer from error accumulation due to wheel slips, vision-based travelled distance estimation can be considered as an alternative approach for more accurate measurements. This study presents a new algorithm to estimate travelled distance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 26 Dec 2014 · 8,700 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleVision-Based Obstacle Avoidance of Mobile Robot Using Quantized Spatial ModelSalaheddin Odeh, Rasha Faqeh, Laila Abu Eid, Nihal ShamasnehProblem statement: Problem of moving a robot through unknown environment has attracted much attention over past two decades. Such problems have several difficulties and complexities that are unobserved, besides the ambiguity of how this can be achieved since a robot may encounter obstacles of all forms that must be bypassed in an intelligent manner. This research had been aimed to … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,053 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRobot Control Using Natural Instructions Via Visual and Tactile SensationsTakuya Ikai, Shota Kamiya, Masahiro OhkaStress-free interaction between humans and robots is necessary to support humans in daily life. In order to achieve this, we anticipate the development of new robots equipped with tactile and vision sensors for receiving human instructions. In this article, we focus on spontaneous movements that do not require training, such as pointing and force adjustment and that are suitable for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 5 · 27 May 2016 · 7,586 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvolution of Neural Controllers for Robot Navigation in Human EnvironmentsGenci Capi, Hideki TodaProblem statement: In this study, we presented a novel vision-based learning approach for autonomous robot navigation. Approach: In our method, we converted the captured image in a binary one, which after the partition is used as the input of the neural controller. Results: The neural control system, which maps the visual information to motor commands, is evolved online using real … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,784 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimised Implementation of Dense Stereo Correspondence for Resource Limited HardwareDeepambika Vadekkettathu Anirudhan, Malangai Abdul RahimanComputer stereo vision is a passive sensing technique that helps to recover 3D information of an environment from 2D images. The stereo correspondence is a challenging task that finds out matching pixels between the stereo image pair based on Lambertian criteria and its result is a disparity space image. The depth of the objects from the camera can be calculated … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 10 · 18 Oct 2018 · 7,326 accessesView PDFCite
