Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Implementing Calls Prioritization with Different Queuing Disciplines in Mobile Wireless NetworksSalman A. AlQahtani, Nasser-Eddine RikliIt is known that efficient call handling mechanisms can greatly improve cellular network performance. One way to improve system performance of cellular network is to use efficient handover schemes when users changes between cells. This paper focuses on the performance evaluation of originating and handover calls prioritization using different queue size and discipline. Both calls will be queued until they … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 6,470 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Evaluation of a QoS-Aware Mechanism for Polling-Based High-Speed Network InterfacesSalman Al-Qahtani, Tarek Helmy, Khaled SalahThe explosive growth of the high-speed multimedia networks and the widespread use of web-based related applications place new demands on the network servers. The network end systems such as PC-Router, network server and host connected to high speed links must satisfy QoS requirements for multimedia traffics such as delay and loss ratio. Most works on operating systems support for high-speed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2005 · 6,565 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAdvanced Hierarchical Deep Learning Approach for Intrusion Detection: Hyperparameter Tuning and Performance Evaluation on the CICIDS DatasetAjeet Singh, Azath M, Shahazad Niwazi Qurashi et al.Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are essential in the communication security and integrity of contemporary network architectures. This study introduces a novel advanced hierarchical deep learning model for network intrusion detection using the CICIDS dataset-2019. To improve the detection accuracy, the proposed model architecture builds several deep learning layers embedded with hyperparameters' optimization. Additional preprocessing steps, including over-sampling and min-max scaling, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 11 · 26 Dec 2025 · 2,148 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAdvanced Facial Emotion Recognition Using DCNN-ELM: A Comprehensive Approach to Preprocessing, Feature Extraction and Performance EvaluationBoopalan K., Satyajee Srivastava, K. Kavitha et al.As a subfield of affective computing, Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) teaches computers to read people's facial expressions to determine their emotional state. Because facial expressions convey 55% of an individual's emotional and mental state in the whole range of face-to-face communication, Facial Emotion Recognition is crucial for connecting humans and computers. Improvements in the way computer systems (robotic systems) interact … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 1 · 30 Nov 2024 · 5,899 accessesView PDFCite
