Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMultimodal Biometrics using Feature FusionK. Krishneswari, S. ArumugamProblem statement: Biometric is a unique, measurable physiological or behavioral characteristic of a person and finds extensive applications in authentication and authorization. Fingerprint, palm print, iris, voice, are some of the most widely used biometric for personal identification. To reduce the error rates and enhance the usability of biometric system, multimodal biometric systems are used where more than one biometric … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 24 Jan 2012 · 7,370 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Efficient Multimodal Biometric Authentication Integrating Fingerprint and Face FeaturesShohel Sayeed, Ilham Nasir, Thian Song OngBiometrics authentication has been used in many applications such as e-commerce, access control etc. In this research, multimodal biometric authentication in light of score level combination of fingerprint and face is proposed. Face and fingerprint is two of the most popular biometric traits and can complement each other for more reliable user authentication. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 11 · 18 Nov 2016 · 8,039 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMultimodal Biometric-based Secured Authentication System using SteganographyB. Shanthini, S. SwamynathanProblem statement: The main challenge in the design of a security system for high security mobile ad OC network is how to prevent the attacks against data modification and authentication. Approach: In this novel proposed system the messages communicated between the users are encrypted by the cancellable cryptographic key generated from fingerprint features of the receiver by applying genetic operators … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 7 May 2012 · 7,279 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEfficient Multimodal Biometric Authentication Using Fast Fingerprint Verification and Enhanced Iris FeaturesA. Jameer Basha, V. Palanisamy, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: The accuracy of biometric systems varies with the kind of biometric feature used in it. The Unmoral biometric system is prone to interclass variations. Approach: We implement Multimodal biometric systems to overcome the limitations by using multiple pieces of evidence of the same identity. However, the multimodal biometric system is limited to the time constraints due to its … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,619 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Comparative Analysis of Biometrics Types: Literature ReviewMohammad Al Rousan, Benedetto IntrigilaThis study provides a thorough analysis of the various biometric types, including their advantages and disadvantages. It compares the different types and provides details about false acceptance and false rejection rates, along with their equations. Biometric screening systems are used to test and identify persons using their physiological or behavioral characteristics. Using only one recognition device is not suitable for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 12 · 24 Dec 2020 · 9,003 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Proposed Integrated Human Recognition for Security ReassuranceZahraddeen Sufyanu, Fatma Susilawati Mohamad, Ahmad Salihu Ben-MusaA lot of systems require reliable and thorough authentication to ratify individual's claimed identity, especially in national and international security and defense. Unibiometric system suffers inherent weaknesses that are unavoidable in the system. Such inadequacies may directly or indirectly lead to an unacceptable error. For this reason, researchers pay great attention to the more advanced biometrics (referred to as multimodal … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 11 Apr 2015 · 7,256 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMultimodal Face and Ear ImagesA.A. Darwish, R. Abd Elghafar, A. Fawzi AliProblem statement: The study presented in this study to combined face and ear algorithms as an application of human identification. Biometric system to the detection and identification of human faces and ears developed a multimodal biometric system using eigenfaces and eigenears. Approach: The proposed system used the extracted face and ear images to develop the respective feature spaces via the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 30 May 2009 · 7,225 accessesView PDF Cite
