Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEfficient Multimodal Biometric Authentication Using Fast Fingerprint Verification and Enhanced Iris FeaturesA. Jameer Basha, V. Palanisamy, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: The accuracy of biometric systems varies with the kind of biometric feature used in it. The Unmoral biometric system is prone to interclass variations. Approach: We implement Multimodal biometric systems to overcome the limitations by using multiple pieces of evidence of the same identity. However, the multimodal biometric system is limited to the time constraints due to its … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,619 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Comparative Analysis of Biometrics Types: Literature ReviewMohammad Al Rousan, Benedetto IntrigilaThis study provides a thorough analysis of the various biometric types, including their advantages and disadvantages. It compares the different types and provides details about false acceptance and false rejection rates, along with their equations. Biometric screening systems are used to test and identify persons using their physiological or behavioral characteristics. Using only one recognition device is not suitable for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 12 · 24 Dec 2020 · 9,003 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TPM USER AUTHENTICATION MODELMarwan Ibrahim Alshar’e, Rossilawati Sulaiman, Mohd Rosmadi Mokhtar, Abdullah MohdZinThe Trusted Computing Group (TCG) has introduced the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) as a solution to assure end users of their privacy and confidentiality. Although the TPM is designed to prevent software attacks, the TPM itself is vulnerable to physical attacks that could enable intruders to gain access to confidential data. In general, the TPM provides an ID and implements … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 20 Dec 2014 · 8,615 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMulti-Factor Authentication for e-Government Services using a Smartphone Application and Biometric Identity VerificationMohammad AlRousan, Benedetto IntrigilaThe growing usage of smartphones and tablets has a significant impact on e-government services, according to Cisco and accounted for 59 percent of total IP traffic during 2018. In the provision of e-government services, usernames and passwords are still the most common authentication scheme. A password, however, is a weak authentication scheme, as it can easily be hacked over an … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 2 · 20 Feb 2020 · 7,839 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFace Recognition as a Biometric ApplicationRelly Victoria Virgil PetrescuA facial recognition system is a technology capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. There are multiple methods in which facial recognition systems work, but in general, they work by comparing selected facial features from the given image with faces within a database. It is also described as … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 14 May 2019 · 18,781 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnrolment and Matching of Fingerprints using Minutiae TreePraseetha V.M., S. VadivelAutomated fingerprint matching is considered as the most challenging phase of fingerprint recognition since it can be affected by a variety of factors such as noise, skin condition, rotation, distortions and displacements. When there is a large database, the search time to get a matching fingerprint will be relatively high. To reduce the searching time in the database, we have … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 3 · 15 Mar 2019 · 7,566 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Review Study of Brain Activity-Based Biometric AuthenticationAla Abdulhakim Alariki, Abdul Wasi Ibrahimi, Mohammad Wardak, John WallBiometrics is the process of identifying an individual among others by biological means. Concerning security, biometric system is one of the best options available in this technology driven era. Places such as nuclear facilities, airports, banks etc. are on the frontline of security threats. Therefore, biometrics such as Iris, face and fingerprint recognition is frequently used to avoid any security … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 2 · 27 Jan 2018 · 9,471 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Multimodal Biometric System using Global Features for Identical Twins IdentificationBayan Omar Mohammed, Siti Mariyam ShamsuddinPattern recognition studies are currently focusing on twin’s biometric identification. The system of twins’ biometric Identification can potentially differentiate the individual’s biometric pattern. With the new Unimodal biometric identification, identical twins are precisely and reliably identified, with well exposure of certain traits. However, it is much more challenging to identify identical twins as they share so many similarities between them, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 18 Jan 2018 · 8,014 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Multimodal Biometric Authentication Integrating Fingerprint and Face FeaturesShohel Sayeed, Ilham Nasir, Thian Song OngBiometrics authentication has been used in many applications such as e-commerce, access control etc. In this research, multimodal biometric authentication in light of score level combination of fingerprint and face is proposed. Face and fingerprint is two of the most popular biometric traits and can complement each other for more reliable user authentication. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 11 · 18 Nov 2016 · 8,039 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImpact of Algorithms for the Extraction of Minutiae Points in Fingerprint BiometricsM. Rajaram, Sudha S. PonnarasiProblem statement: As the importance of automatic personal identification applications increases, biometrics particularly fingerprint identification is the most consistent and greatly acknowledged technique. A very important step in automatic fingerprint recognition system is to extract the minutiae points from the input fingerprint images automatically and quickly. Approach: Fingerprints from the database FVC2002 (DB1-a) is used for experimental purpose. The minutiae … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 9 Aug 2012 · 7,642 accessesView PDFCite
