Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleReciprocity Effect between Cognitive Style and Mixed Learning Method on Computer Programming SkillAnthony Anggrawan, Christofer Satria, Mayadi, Ni Gusti Ayu DasrianiMany universities undertake mixed learning to meet the required needs. Mixed learning is a blend of F2F classroom education and online learning education. The strength of mixed learning is that it supports student cognitive styles more than non-mixed learning. The right mix of mixed learning provides more constructive and conducive learning. Meanwhile, the programming language is the primary skill that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2021 · 6,210 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePersonal Computer Based Clinical Programming Software for Auditory ProsthesesK. Rajakumar, P. Seetha RamaiahAuditory Prostheses (AP) are widely used electronic devices for patients suffering with severe to profound senosorineural deafness by electrically stimulating the auditory nerve using an electrode array surgically placed in the inner ear. AP mainly contains external Body Worn Speech Processor (BWSP) and internal Implantable Receiver Stimulator (IRS). BWSP receives an external sound or speech and generates encoded speech data … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 6,906 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA New Computer Science Student Recruitment Strategy University Of Sharjah (UOS) Case StudyManar Abu Talib, Ashraf ElnagarIn this study, we focus on two objectives: (1) To raise awareness of the computing field in three groups of students-high school, freshmen in their first term of university (i.e., students taking the Introduction to IT course) and freshmen in their second term of university (i.e., students taking the Programming I course); and (2) to organize visible CS/IT activities (i.e., … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 25 Aug 2014 · 7,529 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMemory TracingEva Cogan, Chaya GurwitzProblem statement: Students completing introductory computing courses did not know how to program at the expected level. Seeking the underlying problem, we came to believe that students were focusing only on results and not connecting with the inner workings of their code. This left them poorly prepared to master increasingly complex problems. Approach: We hoped that by promoting memory tracing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 7,163 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAchievements and Usage of Learning Materials in Computer Science Hybrid CoursesAndrija Bernik, Danijel Radošević, Goran BubašThe term gamification is used to describe the implementation of computer game elements into non-game-based systems. We have expended our previous research and in this article we’ve introduced new concept model for comprehensive gamified approach based on literature findings. Next, we empirically tested two hypotheses regarding the learning achievement in specific topics of online university courses “3D Modeling” and “Programming … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 4 · 19 Apr 2019 · 8,207 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSurvey on Representation Techniques for Malware Detection SystemGamal Abdel Nassir Mohamed, Norafida Bte IthninMalicious programs are malignant software’s designed by hackers or cyber offenders with a harmful intent to disrupt computer operation. In various researches, we found that the balance between designing an accurate architecture that can detect the malware and track several advanced techniques that malware creators apply to get variants of malware are always a difficult line. Hence the study of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 11 · 10 Jul 2017 · 8,590 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUSING COLUMN GENERATION TECHNIQUE TO ESTIMATE PROBABILITY STATISTICS IN TRANSITION MATRIX OF LARGE SCALE MARKOV CHAIN WITH LEAST ABSOLUTE DEVIATION CRITERIAWanida Lerspipatthananon, Peerayuth CharnsethikulThe Least Absolute Deviation (LAD) method is the one of many methods used to estimate transition probability matrix of Markov Chain. It can be formulated as a Linear Programming Problem (LP) and solved using its regular state of the art software. However, when the Markov Chain has a large number of states and historical state probabilities data, the corresponding LP … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 23 Sep 2014 · 7,121 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDESIGN OF FUZZY LOGIC CONTROLLER FOR ONLINE SPEED REGULATION OF DC MOTOR USING PWM TECHNIQUE BASED ON LABORATORY VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT ENGINEERING WORKBENCHPrema Kannan, Senthil Kumar Natarajan, Subhransu Sekar DashThis study details online speed regulation of DC motor using PWM technique based on LabVIEW. A fuzzy logic controller is designed to change the pulse width of switching signal applied to the converter and thereby the voltage fed to the armature of the separately excited DC motor to regulate the speed. The proposed system is connected to the server computer … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 4 Jul 2013 · 6,719 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of Object-Oriented Debugger Model by Using Unified Modeling LanguageNor Fazlida Mohd Sani, Noor Afiza Mohd Ariffin, Rodziah AtanDebugging on computer program is a complex cognitive activity. Although it is complex, it’s still one of the popular issues in computer programming task. It is a difficult task, which is to understand what the error is and how to solve such error? In computer programming the difficulty is to understand the Object-Oriented programming concept together with the programming logic. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 22 Jan 2013 · 7,173 accessesView PDFCite
