Research ArticleOpen accessSwot Analysis of Virtual Reality Application in Architecture and ConstructionGenoveva Veble, Andrija Bernik, Andrej ČepVirtual reality has become more and more recognized and applied in architecture and construction during the past decade. Its ability to create simulated 3-dimensional environments significantly facilitates design, construction and construction management. Despite its numerous advantages, VR faces a number of challenges that limit the integration of VR technology into the architecture and construction sector. Issues such as motion sickness, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 10 · 1 Aug 2024 · 4,742 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAnalysis and Design of Protocol for the Reconstruction of Computer Field Model Using Dron and PhotogrammetryBoris Tunjić, Andrija Bernik, Andrej ČepOne of the main challenges in aerial photogrammetry is the lack of standardization in the process of data integration, which is the first step in 3D reconstruction. This study analyses the influence of the distance from the camera to the subject of the recording, the influence of different overlap percentages in photography as well as the difference between the three … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 12 · 15 Nov 2023 · 5,031 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessGamification After Almost a Decade: Is it Still Relevant? A Case of Non-STEM Hybrid E-learning University CourseAndrija Bernik, Danijel Radošević, Jasmina DvorskiGamification is a common and familiar term so far and it can be seen in almost every part of human activity. It's been nine years since the terminology first appeared in Gartner's Hype Cycle Report in 2011, however, higher education institutions still do not apply computer game elements to online Learning Management Systems (LMS). The problems encountered are related either … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 5 · 20 May 2020 · 7,248 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAchievements and Usage of Learning Materials in Computer Science Hybrid CoursesAndrija Bernik, Danijel Radošević, Goran BubašThe term gamification is used to describe the implementation of computer game elements into non-game-based systems. We have expended our previous research and in this article we’ve introduced new concept model for comprehensive gamified approach based on literature findings. Next, we empirically tested two hypotheses regarding the learning achievement in specific topics of online university courses “3D Modeling” and “Programming … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 4 · 19 Apr 2019 · 8,197 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessResearch on Efficiency of Applying Gamified Design into University’s e-Courses: 3D Modeling and ProgrammingAndrija Bernik, Danijel Radošević, Daniel StrmečkiResearch presented in this paper represents a further step towards proving the efficiency of gamification in higher education. Our research was conducted within two higher education institutions and includes full-time and part-time students who enrolled in the courses 3D modeling and Programming. Based on the research results, three hypotheses were tested. These hypotheses give a better insight into some psychological … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 12 · 11 Dec 2017 · 8,331 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessGamification in E-Learning: Introducing Gamified Design Elements into E-Learning SystemsDaniel Strmečki, Andrija Bernik, Danijel RadoševićGamification is the usage of game mechanics, dynamics, aesthetics and game thinking in non-game systems. Its main objective is to increase user’s motivation, experience and engagement. For the same reason, it has started to penetrate in e-learning systems. However, when using gamified design elements in e-learning, we must consider various types of learners. In the phases of analysis and design … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 12 · 11 Feb 2016 · 11,336 accessesView PDF Cite
