Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsInternet-Based Teleoperation of Carts Considering Effects of Time Delay via Continuous Pole PlacementTheophilus Okore-Hanson, Sun YiA new control design for teleoperation considering time delay is presented. Unlike existing methods for communication delays, the design presented here identifies and continuously moves the rightmost eigenvalues to desired positions. Signal transmission through the Internet using protocols (e.g., UDP) introduces time delays into the system. The time delays cause instability as the system is forced to make use of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 3 Apr 2017 · 7,947 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFL-CARE: Federated Learning-Based Contention-Aware and Energy-Balanced Routing for Dense FANETsHalimjon Khujamatov, Elyanora Jolimbetova et al.In dense multi-drone FANET environments, routing efficiency is often reduced due to constant competition for a wireless channel, frequent changes in network topology, and uneven energy consumption between UAV nodes. These factors lead to a decrease in the packet delivery ratio, an increase in delays on the busiest or most unstable routes, and a reduction in the total network lifespan. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 8 · 13 Aug 2026 · 1,172 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStrengthening the Integrity of Forwarding First Communication Using Forward Key Chain and Bloom Filter in the Wireless Sensor NetworksMuhammad Taqqyyudin Ilham Ramadhan, Farah Afianti, Bambang Ari Wahyudi et al.Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are collections of sensor nodes that can help people monitor things wirelessly, replacing the need for human presence in hard-to-reach areas. While forwarding first communication reduces communication delays among the sensor nodes, it lacks a security mechanism. Since sensor nodes have limited resources, using complex security measures can shorten their lifetime. This study proposes a protocol … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 3 · 14 Feb 2023 · 5,661 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnergy and Distance Aware Multi-Objective Firebug Swarm Optimization Based Clustering and Routing in Wireless Sensor NetworksGundeboyina Srinivasalu, Hanumanthappa UmadeviIn recent years, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have received increased international attention due to advancements in the communication, electronics, and information fields. These sensor networks integrate a huge number of sensor nodes to track rapidly changing physical events. The key improvement is that these nodes can be easily positioned in any environment due to their small size. Therefore, maintaining network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 3 · 10 Feb 2023 · 6,029 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImpact of the Use of Object Request Broker Middleware for Inter-Component Communications in C6416 Digital Signal Processor Based Software Communications Architecture Radio SystemsWael A. Murtada, Mohamed M. Zahra, Magdi Fikri et al.Problem statement: This study presents an in-depth analysis of the performance of Software Communications Architecture (SCA) component-based waveform applications in terms of inter-component communications. The main limitation with SCA, in the context of embedded systems, is the additional cost introduced by the use of Object Request Broker (ORB) middleware. The ORB middleware handles the interaction between components and objects in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 3 Apr 2012 · 7,239 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUsing Threads to Overcome Synchronization Delays in Parallel Multiple Progressive Alignment AlgorithmsEvandro A. Marucci, Geraldo F.D. Zafalon, Julio C. Momente et al.Problem statement: The parallelization of multiple progressive alignment algorithms is a difficult task. All known methods have strong bottlenecks resulting from synchronization delays. This is even more constraining in distributed memory systems, where message passing also delays the interprocess communication. Despite these drawbacks, parallel computing is becoming increasingly necessary to perform multiple sequence alignment. Approach: In this study, it is … …Current Research in Bioinformatics, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 8 Mar 2012 · 14,192 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractInteractive Computing Framework for Engineering ApplicationsJovana Knezevic, Jerome Frisch, Ralf-Peter Mundani, Ernst RankProblem statement: Even though the computational steering state-of-the-art environments allow users to embed their simulation codes as a module for an interactive steering without the necessity for their own expertise in high-performance computing and visualisation, e.g., these environments are limited in their possible applications and mostly entail heavy code changes in order to integrate the existing code. Approach: In this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,207 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Causal Protocol with Forward Error Correction for Mobile Distributed SystemsEduardo Lopez Dominguez, Saul E. Pomares Hernandez, Gustavo Rodriguez Gomez et al.Problem statement: Causal ordering is used in Mobile Distributed Systems (MDS) to reduce the non-determinism induced by four main aspects: host mobility, asynchronous execution, unpredictable communication delays and unreliable communication channels. Some causal protocols have been proposed for MDS. All of these protocols in order to ensure the causal order in unreliable channels use the method of Automatic Repeat Request … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 8,239 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThroughput-Delay Trade-Off for Slotted Aloha Multiple Access with Capture EffectA. Chehri, P. Fortier, P. M. TardifProblem statement: Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols are one of most important research issues in communication and networking. There have been proposed several MAC protocols in wireless as well in wired networks. Approach: ALOHA-based protocol is the simplest one, being able to provide prompt access, reliable channels and support for quality of service. However its limited capacity, low throughput and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,918 accessesView PDFCite
