Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleInfluence of The Extract of Brown Seaweed (Turbinaria decurrens Bory) on the Histology of Colon on AOM-DSS Mouse ModelAnton Bahtiar, Dian AnggraeniUtilization of seaweed as a commodity trading or as a raw materials industry is still relatively small compared with the diversity of seaweed species in Indonesia. Turbinaria decurrens Bory is one of the brown seaweed species that has a high enough fucoxanthin content compared with other brown seaweed species. Fucoxanthin is one of the carotenoid pigments that have long been … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 17, Issue 4 · 13 Dec 2017 · 7,034 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleLectin Histochemistry Assay in Colon Tissues for Inter-species CharacterizationFaezeh Yazdani Moghaddam, Jamshid Darvish, Nasser Mahdavi Shahri et al.Problem statement: The digestive tract of animals including rodents has taxonomic and ecologic importance due to its ability in adaptation for different environments. Whereas colon absorbs water and carbohydrates, it has a vital role ecologically and physiologically and enjoys different histological structures in different rodents with various diets. Approach: Different rodent specimens belong to the family Muridae, namely Gerbilinae subfamily … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2009 · 8,685 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Designing Framework for Ant Colony Algorithm for Managing Cognitive InsomniaRoqia Rateb, Amal Shorman, Ahmad Sami Al-Shamayleh et al.Insomnia, a condition characterized by poor sleep quality, significantly impacts cognitive function, mood, and overall well-being. Traditional treatments like medication and psychological therapies, while effective, often come with limitations such as high costs and limited scalability. This study addresses these challenges by proposing an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm-based approach to create a dynamic support network for individuals suffering from … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 7 · 7 Jul 2025 · 3,518 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEffect of Probiotic Feed Additives on Honeybee Colonies OverwinteringGalina Mishukovskaya, Marat Giniyatullin, Varis Tuktarov et al.The paper presents the study on the effect of two types of probiotic feed additives of different composition on the quality of honeybee colonies during wintering. Feed additive called SpasiPchel contains 2 strains of bacteria Bacillus subtilis anfeed additive PcheloNormosil contains Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains and arabinogalactan (prebiotic isolated from Siberian larch needles). If honeybees received Spasipchel and Pchelonormosil during … …American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Vol. 15, Issue 4 · 18 Nov 2020 · 6,990 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePrice Prediction for Agricultural Commodities in Bandung Regency Based on Functional Link Neural Network and Artifical Bee Colony AlgorithmsFhira Nhita, Deni Saepudin, Andini Paramita et al.In Indonesia, fluctuating agricultural commodity prices often impacts society negatively. In this study, farmers in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia, were chosen as a case study. Fluctuating agricultural commodity prices can lead to farmers suffering losses due to the sale price being smaller or equal to the cost of planting. Price is influenced by crop productivity, while planting productivity is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 10 · 6 Mar 2019 · 7,904 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnt Colony Optimization Approaches in Wireless Sensor Network: Performance EvaluationHusna Jamal Abdul Nasir, Ku Ruhana Ku-Mahamud, Eiji KamiokaWireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been widely implemented in large sectors such as military, habitat, business, industrial, health and environment. WSN is part of a distributed system where elements such as routing, load balancing, energy efficiency, node localization, time synchronization, data aggregation and security need to be addressed to improve its efficiency, robustness, extendibility, applicability and reliability. Despite multiple approaches … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 6 · 24 Jun 2017 · 8,533 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMaximally Distant Codes Allocation Using Chemical Reaction Optimization and Ant Colony Optimization AlgorithmsTaisir Eldos, Waleed Nazih, Aws KananError correcting codes, also known as error controlling codes, are set of codes with redundancy that allows detecting errors. This is quite useful in transmitting data over a noisy channel or when retrieving data from a storage with possible physical defects. The idea is to use a set of code words that are maximally distant from each other, hence reducing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 8 · 5 Nov 2015 · 7,000 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnt Colony Optimization for Load Management Based on Load Shifting in the Textile IndustryChaimongkon Chokpanyasuwan, Tika Bunnag, Ratthasak PrommasThe textile industry is a complicated manufacturing industry because it is a fragmented and heterogeneous sector dominated by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). There are various energy-efficiency opportunities that exist in every textile plant. However, even cost-effective options often are not implemented in textile plants mostly because of limited information on how to implement energy-efficiency measures. This paper presents the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 9 Apr 2015 · 7,116 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleENHANCEMENT AND COMPARISON OF ANT COLONY OPTIMIZATION FOR SOFTWARE RELIABILITY MODELSLatha Shanmugam, Lilly FlorenceIn Common parlance, the traditional software reliability estimation methods often rely on assumptions like statistical distributions that are often dubious and unrealistic. The ability to predict the number of faults during development phase and a proper testing process helps in specifying timely release of software and efficient management of project resources. In the Present Study Enhancement and Comparison of Ant … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,561 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Hybridization of Enhanced Artificial Bee Colony-Least Squares Support Vector Machines for Price ForecastingZuriani Mustaffa, Yuhanis YusofProblem statement: As the performance of Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LSSVM) is highly rely on its value of regularization parameter, γ and kernel parameter, σ2, man-made approach is clearly not an appropriate solution since it may lead to blindness in certain extent. In addition, this technique is time consuming and unsystematic, which consequently affect the generalization performance of LSSVM. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 28 Aug 2012 · 6,796 accessesView PDFCite
