Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Novel Approach to Modeling and Flooding in Ad-hoc Wireless NetworksO. Issaad, S. Pierre, G. I. Ivascu, O. GarciaThis study proposes a new modeling approach for wireless ad-hoc networks. The new approach is based on the construction of fuzzy neighborhoods and essentially consists of assigning a membership or importance degree to each network radio link which reflects the relative quality of this link. This approach is first used to model the flooding problem and then an algorithm is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,015 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleTopology Discovering and Power saving Mechanism for Routing in a Tree of Ad-hoc Wireless NetworksArwa ZabianPower management in mobile network is an open challenges where the power level in the network influences the network life time. However, there are a trade off between the power consumption and the connectivity in mobile networks. We present a topology control mechanism and a routing protocol for Ad-Hoc wireless networks that chooses the shortest path given the lower power … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,550 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMulticost Routing Approach in Wireless Ad hoc NetworksD. Loganathan, P. RamamoorthyProblem statement: A Wireless ad hoc network is a collection of autonomous movable nodes that communicate with each other over wireless links without any static infrastructure. In these networks there is no fixed topology because of the mobility of nodes, interference, multipath propagation and path loss. A variety of routing protocols and algorithm with varying network settings are analyzed to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 30 Aug 2012 · 6,737 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Optimized Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol for Wireless NetworksV. Ponniyin Selvan, S. Senthil KumarProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) is communication network made up of mesh routers and mesh clients, with mesh routers forming the backbone of the network. The WMN can be accessed by other networks through gateways and bridging functions in the mesh routers. The mesh clients can either be static or mobile with an option of forming a client mesh … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 21 Jun 2012 · 7,166 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMULTICAST ROUTING WITH QUALITY OF SERVICE CONSTRAINTS IN THE AD HOC WIRELESS NETWORKSAbdellah Idrissi, Fadoua YakineThe recent multimedia applications and services are very demanding in terms of Quality of Service (QoS). This creates new challenges in ensuring QoS when delivering those services over wireless networks. Motivated by the need of supporting high quality multicast applications in wireless ad hoc networks, we propose a network topology that can minimize the power when connecting the source node … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 30 Apr 2014 · 6,890 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCongestion Control in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks by Enhancement of Transmission Control ProtocolN. Premalatha, A. M. NatarajanProblem statement: Transmission Control Protocol is the Internet’s most widely used transport control protocol. TCP’s strength lies in the adaptive nature of its congestion avoidance and control algorithm and its retransmission mechanism. In TCP Vegas rerouting (a path), which change the propagation delay of the connection and this may be able to result in a substantial decrease in through put. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,688 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntegrated Metric-Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector: A Routing Protocol over Wireless Mesh NetworksMd. Arafatur Rahman, Farhat Anwar, Md. Saiful AzadProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is an emerging technology for wireless environment. Since WMNs are permanent or semi-permanent network, an efficient and reliable path establishment is the core concern for such type of networks. Several performance metrics has been designed for WMNs such as Expected Transmission Count (ETX), Expected Transmission Time (ETT), interference Aware Routing Metric (iAWARE), Link Type … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2009 · 7,493 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAd Hoc Mobile Wireless Networks Routing Protocols - A ReviewGeetha Jayakumar, G. GopinathMobile ad hoc networks(MANET) represent complex distributed systems that comprise wireless mobile nodes that can freely and dynamically self organize into arbitrary and temporary ad-hoc network topologies, allowing people and devices to seamlessly internet work in areas with no preexisting communication infrastructure e.g., disaster recovery environments. An ad-hoc network is not a new one, having been around in various forms … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 115,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Fast-and-Fair Collision Resolution Protocol Tailored for Ad Hoc Wireless NetworksMarcos F. Caetano, Lucas M. Guimaraes, Jacir L. BordimWireless technologies have permeated a significant number of devices over the years. On the other hand, Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols strive to deal with an increasing number of contending nodes on crowded frequency bands. This work presents an efficient medium access control resolution protocol. The proposed protocol, termed Collision Resolution Protocol (CRP), uses pulse/tone signaling that works in both … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 8 · 1 Nov 2016 · 7,140 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSECURE WIRELESS AD HOC NETWORKS USING ZERO KNOWLEDGE PROOFBenfano Soewito, Yonathan Marcellinus, Manik HapsaraA Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a group of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically form a network without any pre-established infrastructure or centralized administration, Soewito (2014). Some network hops may be needed to send a packet from one node to another node in the MANET. To do the communication between the nodes, a route has to be selected in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 26 Dec 2014 · 7,863 accessesView PDFCite
