Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPredicting Battery Charge Depletion in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Received Signal Strength IndicatorInacio Henrique Yano, Vitor ChavesDe Oliveira, Eric Alberto de Mello Fagotto et al.This article aims to identify an adequate mathematical model to predict battery power depletion at the nodes of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), by analyzing the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). Six general models were tested, the simplest Average model, Linear Regression model, Autoregressive (AR) models and Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA) models. The selected model (AR) presented a low absolute mean … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 12 Jun 2013 · 7,246 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimal Energy Consumption to Extend the Lifetime of Wireless Sensor NetworksN. Thangadurai, R. DhanasekaranRecent advances in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) enable us to develop minimum energy consumption clustering algorithms. The WSNs can be used for various applications like battle field, disaster areas and military applications. The most important issue in WSNs is the limited battery of sensor nodes. When sensor nodes are placed in a field, it is difficult to replace their batteries. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 27 May 2013 · 6,802 accessesView PDFCite

VenkateshOwing to the security requirements of wireless sensor network, the background of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is to be analyzed with different threats and attack models. Physical compromising of sensor nodes by an adversary is an emerging problem in sensor network and accordingly, it is necessary to provide an environment with efficient key management techniques due to resource constraints on … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 17 May 2013 · 6,183 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractParticle Swarm Optimization-Based Routing Protocol for Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks with Mobile SinkR. Sudarmani, K.R. Shankar KumarIn Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) sensor nodes with sensing, computing and communication infrastructure are randomly deployed and organized as clusters. Most of the existing sensor networks focus on homogeneous in which the cluster heads are changed periodically. To improve the lifetime of energy constraint battery powered WSN and to avoid energy sink-hole problem; Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks (HSN) are analyzed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 18 Mar 2013 · 6,845 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCluster Based Time Division Multiple Access Scheduling Scheme for Zigbee Wireless Sensor NetworksB. Meenakshi, P. AnandhakumarIn IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee Wireless Sensor Networks, an efficient scheduling mechanism is required for reliable data transmission. Further, concurrent transmission of huge data through CSMA/CA incurs more packet collision rate. This complicated condition has to be eliminated to improve the system throughput. In this study, we propose to deploy cluster based TDMA scheduling mechanism for IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee Wireless Sensor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 26 Nov 2012 · 6,685 accessesView PDFCite
