Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMultiple Constraints for Ant Based Multicast Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksA. Sabari, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is one of the challenging environments for multicast. Since the associated overhead is more, the existing studies illustrate that tree-based and mesh-based on-demand protocols are not the best choice. The costs of the tree under multiple constraints are reduced by the several algorithms which are based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,877 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Effective Location-Based Power Conservation Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksKhalid Kaabneh, Azmi Halasa, Hussein Al-BahadiliProblem statement: One of the major issues in current reactive routing protocols for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is the high bandwidth and power consumptions during the routing process. In this study, we proposed and evaluated the performance of an efficient Location-Based Power Conservation (LBPC) scheme for MANETs. Approach: In this scheme, the transmitting node utilized the location-information of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,839 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Analysis of Clustering Protocols in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSharmila J. Francis, Elijah B. RajsinghNetwork clustering is an important technique widely used in efficient MANETs network management, hierarchical routing protocol design, network modeling, Quality of Service, etc. Recently many researchers are focusing on clustering which is one of the fundamental problems in mobile ad hoc networks. This article presents the descriptions of recently proposed clustering algorithms and is categorized into different approaches that support … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleUtilization of AODV in Wireless Ad Hoc NetworksZeyad M. Alfawaer, GuiWei Hua, Nidal A. HamdehAODV is a mature and widely accepted routing protocol for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET), it has low processing and memory overhead and low network utilization, and works well even in high mobility situation. We modified AODV to use these dominating sets, resulting in the AODV-DS protocol. Our contribution in addressing the fragility of a minimum connected dominating set in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,162 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSECURE WIRELESS AD HOC NETWORKS USING ZERO KNOWLEDGE PROOFBenfano Soewito, Yonathan Marcellinus, Manik HapsaraA Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a group of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically form a network without any pre-established infrastructure or centralized administration, Soewito (2014). Some network hops may be needed to send a packet from one node to another node in the MANET. To do the communication between the nodes, a route has to be selected in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 26 Dec 2014 · 7,869 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleC-LOAD POWER CONTROL PROTOCOL-CROSS-LAYER DESIGN OF A NETWORK LAYER LOAD POWER CONTROL PROTOCOL IN WIRELESS AD HOC NETWORKSA. Arivoli, P. NarayanasamyIn wireless ad hoc network scenario, Cross-layer design is emerging, important in wireless ad hoc network and the power control methods. Power control is the intelligent selection of transmit power in a communication to achieve the better performance within the system. Cross-layer is used to sharing the information between the layers. Physical to Transport layer information are shared in this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 30 Nov 2013 · 7,153 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleCONSTRUCTION OF STRATEGIC CONNECTED DOMINATING SET FOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKSVictor Ceronmani Sharmila, Amalanathan GeorgeConnected Dominating Sets (CDSs) can serve as virtual backbones for wireless networks. A smaller virtual backbone (minimum size CDS) incurs less communication overhead. Unfortunately, computing a minimum size CDS is NP-hard and thus many algorithms were developed which concentrates on how to construct smaller CDSs. Aiming for minimum number of nodes in CDS, results in CDSs that are highly unstable. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 16 Nov 2013 · 6,918 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleLink Stability with Energy Aware Ad Hoc on Demand Multipath Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksSenthil Murugan Tamilarasan, Kannan EswariahMobile Ad Hoc Network is one of the wireless network in which mobile nodes are communicate with each other and have no infrastructure because no access point. The MANET protocols can be classified as proactive and reactive routing protocol. The proactive routing protocols, all nodes which participated in network have routing table. This table updated periodically and is used to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 24 Jul 2013 · 6,509 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEffect of Clustering in Designing a Fuzzy Based Hybrid Intrusion Detection System for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksD. Vydeki, R. S. BhuvaneswaranIntrusion Detection System (IDS) provides additional security for the most vulnerable Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANET). Use of Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) in the design of IDS is proven to be efficient in detecting routing attacks in MANETs. Clustering is a vital means in the detection process of FIS based hybrid IDS.
