Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Policy Based Scheme for Combined Data Security in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksL. Kartheesn, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols, we require a network-level or link layer security. Since without appropriate security provisions, the MANETs is subjected to attacks like network traffic, replay transmissions, manipulate packet headers and redirect routing messages. In order to address these needs, a policy based network management system that provides the capability to express network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 6 Aug 2012 · 6,723 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMultipath Routing Protocol for Effective Local Route Recovery in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkD. Jagadeesan, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In mobile ad hoc networks, frequent mobility during the transmission of data causes route failure which results in route rediscovery. In this, we propose multipath routing protocol for effective local route recovery in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET). In this protocol, each source and destination pair establishes multiple paths in the single route discovery and they are cached … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 8 Jun 2012 · 6,931 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEfficient Broadcasting in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Context Aware Adaptive Routing Protocol during Network PartitionsS. V.M.G. Bavithiraja, R. RadhakrishnanProblem statement: In mobile ado network, broadcasting is a common operation for route establishment and for sending control and emergency messages. Reliable Broadcasting in mobile ad hoc networks requires delivery of messages from different sources to all the nodes of the network within bounded time. The nodes are highly mobile and the network is highly dynamic and decentralized. Most of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 28 Feb 2012 · 6,461 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAdaptive Multi-Path Routing for Load Balancing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Soundararajan, R. S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Load balancing and network congestion are the major problems in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) routing. Most of the existing routing protocols provide solutions to load balancing or congestion or fault-tolerance, individually. Approach: We propose congestion controlled adaptive multi-path routing protocol to achieve load balancing and avoid congestion in MANETs. The algorithm for finding multi-path routes computes fail-safe multiple … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 18 Feb 2012 · 7,449 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCross-Layer Design for Reducing the Energy Consumption based on Mobility Parameter in DSR for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworkV. Bhanumathi, R. DhanasekaranProblem statement: The main idea is to design an energy efficient algorithm for reducing the amount of overhearing based on RSS value in a Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET). Approach: A cross layer framework is designed by combining the physical, MAC and network layer. RSS value is taken from the physical layer and it is used for finding the Mobility Parameter … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 28 Jan 2012 · 6,814 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSystem of One to Three Umpire Security System for Wireless Mobile Ad hoc NetworkC. Rajabhushanam, A. KathirvelProblem statement: A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a self-created self-organized and self-administering set of nodes connected via wireless links without the aid of any fixed infrastructure or centralized administrator. Protecting the network layer from malicious attacks is an important and challenging issue in both wired and wireless networks and the issue becomes even more challenging in the case … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 7,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Secure Routing Protocol to Eliminate Integrity, Authentication and Sleep Deprivation Based Threats in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkEdna Elizabeth Nallathambi, Radha Sankararajan, Vaithiyanathan Sundaram, Gracelin SheebaProblem statement: Network security in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major issue. Some of the attacks such as modification, impersonation, Time To Live (TTL) and sleep deprivation are due to misbehaviour of malicious nodes, which disrupts the transmission. Some of the existing security protocols such as ARAN, SAODV and SEAD are basically used to detect and eliminate one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,817 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEnergy Aware Multiple Constraints Quality of Service Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSenthilkumar Maruthamuthu, Somasundaram SankaralingamProblem statement: This study presents a source based reactive protocol called "Energy Aware Multiple Constraints QoS Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction (EMQRPDM)" for MANET. It is an enhanced version of our previous protocol called "Power aware multiple QoS constraints routing protocol with mobility prediction (PMQRPMP)". It addresses the issues such as routing, mobility and power management in MANET. Approach: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,477 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMobile Ad Hoc Network Security for Reactive Routing Protocol with Node Reputation SchemeA. Suresh, Dr. K. DuraiswamyThe mobile node’s reputation in the Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) identifies its trust worthiness for secured multiple data communication. Unknown nature of the node’s communication status for initial period has great impact in the effective data transfer as MANET is self-organized and distributed. Problem statement: The functional operation of the mobile network relies on the trusty cooperation between the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,988 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvaluation of Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol in HetMAN ArchitectureZahian Ismail, Rosilah HassanProblem statement: Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), a type of network with special characteristics, needs a special mechanism to bear with its ad hoc behavior. Approach: The important issue in MANET is routing protocol. Routing protocol is a standard used to determine the route path taken during the transmission of data.
