Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Pareto Solutions of a Dynamic C Chart: An Application of Statistical Process Control on a Semiconductor Devices Manufacturing ProcessToni Lupo, Filippo SgroiThe present paper proposes a novel economic-statistical design procedure of a dynamic c control chart for the Statistical Process Control (SPC) of the manufacturing process of semiconductor devices. Particularly, a non-linear constrained mathematical programming model is formulated and solved by means of the ϵ-constraint method. A numerical application is developed in order to describe the Pareto frontier, that is the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 4 · 28 May 2015 · 6,473 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCONGESTION MANAGEMENT BY OPTIMAL ALLOCATION OF FACTS CONTROLLERS USING HYBRID FISH BEE OPTIMIZATIONS. Thangalakshmi, P. ValsalalThe role of Independent System Operator (ISO) in the restructured power industry includes system control, capacity planning, transmission tariff and congestion management; the challenging task being minimizing the congestion. One of the popular techniques used to alleviate congestion is using Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices. The power system generally operates near its rated capacity in deregulated market because of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 24 Apr 2014 · 6,645 accessesView PDFCite

The FACTS devices Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) and Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) are selected based on the steady stability … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 26 Dec 2013 · 6,677 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Boundary Control of the Incompressible Fluid Problems in Rotation formJia LiuProblem Statement: We consider the optimal boundary control of the linearized Navier-Stokes problem. Both the Stokes problem and Oseen problem in rotation form are considered. Approach: We use the Mark and Cell (MAC) discretization method to discretize the optimization problem with linear constraints including the Stokes problem and the Oseen problem in rotation from. Then Reduced Hessian methods are to … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,277 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Thyristor Control Series Capacitor Neuro-Controller for Damping OscillationsM. Magaji, M. W. MustafaThis study applies a neural-network-based optimal TCSC controller for damping oscillations. Optimal neural network controller is related to model-reference adaptive control, the network controller is developed based on the recursive "pseudo-linear regression". Problem statement: The optimal NN controller is designed to damp out the low frequency local and inter-area oscillations of the large power system. Approach: Two multilayer-perceptron neural networks … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,281 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Decentralized Load Frequency Control Using HPSO Algorithms in Deregulated Power SystemsSeyed Abbas Taher, Reza Hematti, Ali Abdolalipour, Seyed Hadi TabeiLoad Frequency Control (LFC) is one the most important issues in electrical power system design/operation and is becoming much more significant recently with increasing size, changing structure and complexity in interconnected power systems. In practice LFC systems use simple Proportional-Integral (PI) or Integral (I) controllers. However, since the PI or I control parameters are usually tuned based on classical or … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2008 · 7,389 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Parameter Tuning in a Predictive Nonlinear Control Method for a Mobile RobotD. Hazry, M. SugisakaThis study contributes to a new optimal parameter tuning in a predictive nonlinear control method for stable trajectory straight line tracking with a non-holonomic mobile robot. In this method, the focus lies in finding the optimal parameter estimation and to predict the path that the mobile robot will follow for stable trajectory straight line tracking system.
