Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of an Algorithm for Fiber-to-the-Home Passive Optical Network Automatic Self-restoration Scheme Using Access Control SystemMohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman, Siti Raihan Ahmad MahirProblem statement: Cables that are installed outdoors are subjected to harsh environmental conditions which make break down inevitable. When this happen it will disrupt the services and cause trouble to the users. To overcome this is to provide a means of restoring the network in case of failure. We introduced the Access Control System (ACS) and Customer Access Protection Unit … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 6,899 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWireless Communication with a Microprocessor Based Ultrasonic Meter for Flow MeasurementsMahmoud Z. IskandaraniProblem statement: Although the traditional metering system and method for controlling flow is generally safe, reliable and robust, it does suffer certain drawbacks, such as limited accuracy and the ability to implement complex reactive rate designs. Hence, there is a need for a circuit and method of increasing metering accuracy, as well as the position control accuracy for variable flow … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,584 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractVehicle Detection in Aerial Traffic MonitoringDmitry Sincha, Mikhail Chervonenkis, Pavel SkribtsovThis work describes a cascade detection of vehicles in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images and videos. There are some new approaches used in the detection. In particular, the Region of Interest (ROI) search is not only based on GIS and navigation data, but also employs visual method based on rapid image segmentation and road detection. The work also suggests doing … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 1 · 11 Jan 2016 · 7,925 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of Porous Ti-6Al-4V Mix with Palm Stearin Binder by Metal Injection Molding TechniqueMohamad Ikhwan Jamaludin, Nur Atikah Abu Kasim, Nor Hafiez Mohamad Nor, Muhammad Hussain IsmailGood potential of biocompatibility and excellent mechanical properties, porous Ti-6Al-4V has become a great interest for biomedical applications. In this study, porous Ti-6Al-4V was fabricated by Metal Injection Molding (MIM) using Palm Stearin (PS) and Polyethylene (PE) binder together with sodium chloride (NaCl) as a space holder. Rheological characterization was performed to evaluate the flowability of the feedstocks for injection … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2015 · 7,564 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEVALUATION OF HIDDEN MARKOV MODEL BASED ADAPTIVE PROVISIONING OF OPTICAL BURST SWITCHING NETWORKS AMENABLE FOR UPGRADATION TO GREEN FLEXIGRID NETWORKSP. G.V. Ramesh, Prita NairCatering to the evolving bandwidth-on-demand applications requires flexible provisioning architectures that ensure fairness to both high end and low end users of internet. Dynamic classification of network paths into long and short, based on traffic dependent connection holding times and a wavelength allocation from different subsets for these categories is a necessity for implementing energy saving hybrid switching, loss recovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 5 · 16 Jan 2014 · 6,517 accessesView PDF Cite
