Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSoftware-based Control Algorithm for Providing Convergence Region with an Increasing Polynomial under Windowed FIR FiltersSergio Bimbi Junior, Vitor Chaves De Oliveira, Agenor De Toledo Fleury, Ronaldo RuasThis work developed a control algorithm for dynamical systems to high performance manner, in a way to produce an optimum output applying a modification in digital filters, capable of increasing the convergence zone within the desired cut -off frequency. Such task focused on consistently improving the challenge present in digital filters, which are time-invariant linear systems that are able to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 7 · 17 Jul 2018 · 8,408 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCompressive Sensing Theory for Improving the Robustness and the Security of the Discrete Wavelet Transform-Singular Value Decomposition Watermarking SchemeRasha Shoitan, Sawsan Morkos GharghoryDigital watermarking has been suggested as a solution to protect copyright and ownership of digital images. The effective watermarking scheme should satisfy imperceptibility, robustness, capacity and security requirements. In this research, the security issue and the lack of reconstruction quality of the watermark logo of the integration of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and Compressive Sensing (CS) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 4 · 28 Apr 2021 · 6,599 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA VISION-BASED TRAVELLED DISTANCE ESTIMATION ALGORITHM IN AN INDOOR ENVIRONMENT USING A MOBILE ROBOTMamadou Diop, Chot Hun Lim, Tien Sze Lim, Lee-Yeng OngAutonomous navigation for a mobile robot still remains as a challenging area to be explored. In an indoor environment, while GPS is unavailable and wheel encoder suffer from error accumulation due to wheel slips, vision-based travelled distance estimation can be considered as an alternative approach for more accurate measurements. This study presents a new algorithm to estimate travelled distance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 26 Dec 2014 · 8,700 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBLOOD VESSEL DIAMETER MEASUREMENT ON RETINAL IMAGENidhal K. El Abbadi, Enas Al SaadiAccurate measurement of vessel diameters on retinal images plays an important part in diagnosing cardiovascular diseases and early signs of certain systemic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension. In this study we develop new method based on computer aided to determine the width of retinal blood vessels by analysing the color fundus image. Retinal vessel diameter was measured based on … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 5 · 18 Jan 2014 · 7,527 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEFFECTIVE HEURISTIC ALGORITHM FOR DYNAMIC ROUTING AND BANDWIDTH MANAGEMENT UNDER QUALITY OF SERVICE CONSTRAINTS IN MULTISTAGE INTERCONNECTION NETWORKSR. Deepalakshmi, S. RajaramToday, Internet of Things (IoT) has introduced abundant bandwidth consumption and necessities in multimedia communications from online games to video-conferencing applications with the constraint of QoS requirements from time to time. The expected rapid proliferation of services would require performance unprecedented in the currently available best-effort routing algorithms. In, particular, the present routing mechanisms are based on the best-effort paradigm … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 7 Jan 2014 · 7,138 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTHE ERROR REGISTRATION TECHNIQUE FOR MANEUVERING RADAR NETWORKLiu Yu, Wang Haipeng, Xiong Wei, He YouThis study studies are error registration algorithm for the maneuvering radar network, which is one of the difficult problems of multi-sensor registration. When the maneuvering radar has no orientation bias, measurement equations of both attitude bias and measurement bias can be established by using the common targets observed by different radars. Based on the equations, the real-time estimation of both … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,581 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractREDUCING CALL BLOCKING PROBABILITY IN HYBRID MULTICAST WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING NETWORKS USING WEIGHTED ROUTING AND WAVELENGTH ASSIGNMENT ALGORITHMD. V. Pradeep Sankar, K. MuneeswaranIn the proposed work, the focus is on increasing the available wavelength in the all-optical networks, for which the Routing and Wavelength Assignment plays a vital role. In the earlier reported work, the wavelengths were assigned to the links which covers a set of destinations but not all the intended destinations. However this proposed work, attempts were made to create … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 13 Nov 2013 · 6,849 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMeasuring Power Consumption for Image Processing on Android SmartphoneKhairul Muzzammil Saipullah, Ammar Anuar, Nurul Atiqah Ismail, Yewguan SooThe energy consumption of smartphones can be undertaken in multiple levels of hardware and software. Generally, there are two approaches in measuring power consumption of a smartphone application which are the measurement-based and estimation-based methods. The goal of this study is to compare the two power consumption measuring approaches in quantifying the power consumed by image processing applications in Android … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 17 Jan 2013 · 7,426 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Evaluation of Thermal Imaging Based Respiration Rate Monitoring in ChildrenFarah AL-Khalidi, Reza Saatchi, Heather Elphick, Derek BurkeProblem statement: An important indicator of an individual’s health is respiration rate. It is the average number of times air is inhaled and exhaled per minute. Existing respiration monitoring methods require an instrument to be attached to the patient’s body during the recording. This is a discomfort to the patient and the instrument can be dislodged from its position. Approach: … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Jul 2012 · 10,531 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Optimal Approach for Medical Image AnalysisJ. Umamaheswari, G. RadhamaniProblem statement: Image segmentation is the process that subdivides an image into its constituent parts and extracts the objects. It is one of the most critical tasks in automatic image analysis because the subdivided results will affect all the subsequent processes of image analysis, such as object representation and description, feature measurement and even the following higher level tasks such … …Current Research in Bioinformatics, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 6 Jun 2012 · 9,513 accessesView PDFCite
