Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnalysis of Hierarchical Diff-EDF Schedulability over Heterogeneous Real-Time Packet NetworksMoutaz Saleh, Zulaiha Ali OthmanPacket networks are currently enabling the integration of traffic with a wide range of characteristics that extend from video traffic with stringent QoS requirements to the best-effort traffic requiring no guarantees. QoS guarantees can be provided in conventional packet networks by the use of proper packet scheduling algorithms. As a computer revolution, many scheduling algorithms have been proposed to provide … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 6,530 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleArtificial Neural System for Packet FilteringM. I. Buhari, M. H. Habaebi, B. M. AliIn this study, we analyzed the use of neural network for packet filtering. The neural network system was designed in eight ways with input to the neural network in the form of either access rules or optimized access rules or binary form of access rules or representing wildcards as 0 and 255, or combination of them. These trained neural networks … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,992 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleModified Power Save Model for Better Energy Efficiency and Reduced Packet LatencyNarendran Rajagopalan, C. MalaDevices constituting wireless ad-hoc networks generally operate in battery power, energy efficiency is a critical research issue. IEEE 802.11 Power Save Mode is a standard recommended for energy efficient operation of wireless ad-hoc networks. When there is no data to transfer, energy is still utilized by IEEE 802.11 PSM during the ATIM window. With this work, an attempt is made … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 29 Aug 2012 · 8,312 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA RECONFIGURABLE ARCHITECTURE OF TURBO DECODER FOR MIMO-HIGH SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESST. Yasodha, I. Jacob Raglend, K. Meena Alias JeyanthiA novel channel based rescheduling scheme for modern turbo convolution code is proposed by the inclusion of suboptimal and low-complex max-log-MAP algorithm. Demands for dedicated custom solutions in mobile communications and its related applications leads to a reconfigurable architecture for Turbo convolution code. This study comprises the design and performance evolution of the proposed reconfigurable architecture for channel coding scheme … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 29 Mar 2014 · 6,699 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSelfish Scheduler for Packet Scheduling Based on Packet Weighted Energy Drain Rate in ManetsS. Lakshmi, S. RadhaThe aim of our selfish scheduler based on packet weighted energy drain rate in Mobile ad-hoc networks mainly depends on the available least highest-limit of the residual value of a mobile node. The projected work comprises of mechanisms for detecting the selfish node as well as an attitude called rehabilitate-before-malicious behavior for justifying against the malicious behavior of nodes having … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 6 Feb 2013 · 6,842 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSecure Packet Encryption and Key Exchange System in Mobile Ad hoc NerworkSudhakar Sengan, S. Chenthur PandianProblem statement: Mobile Ad-hoc Network is infrastructureless network supported by no fixed trusted infrastructure. The packets had a chance to drop or hacked by eavesdropper during transmission. So, encryption method is required for sending and receiving packet in secret manner. Approach: In this approach, the block and key size had been increased by 256 bits. When compared to Rijndael algorithm, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 17 Mar 2012 · 7,387 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Novel Routing Technique against Packet Dropping Attack in Adhoc NetworksN. Bhalaji, Sinchan banerjee, A. ShanmugamProblem Statement: Mobile adhoc networks (MANETs) were extensively used in defense and rescue applications. The dynamic topology of MANETs allows nodes to join and leave the network at any point of time. This dynamic property of MANET has rendered it vulnerable to various security attacks. Many trust establishment methods were proposed to increase the security in MANET. In this paper … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2008 · 6,582 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMPLS over Segmented WDM Optical Packet Switching NetworksHakim Mellah, Fouad M. AbbouWavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) is a promising solution for data transport in future all-optical wide area networks. Such networks consist of fibers joined by dynamically controllable cross-connects which provide purely optical transport between pairs of network access stations. Optical packet switching (OPS) is optical switching with the finest granularity. Incoming packets are switched all-optically without being converted to electrical signal. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 6,750 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Simulation-Based Comparison of Multimedia Traffic Prioritization Schemes for High-Performance Input-Queued Packet SwitchesSalman A. AlQahtaniThis study investigates the problem of enabling Quality of Service (QoS) of multimedia traffic at the input port of high-performance input-queued packet switches using a simulation-based evaluation. We focus on the possibility of assuring QoS of multimedia traffic in such switches by implementing traffic prioritization at the input port where each input-queue has been modified to provide a separate buffer … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2006 · 7,074 accessesView PDFCite
