Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Effect of Packet Redundancy Elimination Technique in Sensor NetworksDeepa Priya, Sharmini EnochA lot of sensor nodes which are able to sense, process and communicate with external base station with the data obtained from external environment belong to a class of adhoc networks called wireless sensor networks. The main challenge in sensor network is to increase the life time of the network thereby reducing duplicate by detecting the redundant information. While the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 6 · 25 Feb 2018 · 7,878 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleComparative Study of Packet Scheduling Algorithm in LTE NetworkAlaa Omer Najim, Nor Asilah Wati Abdul Hamid, Zurina Mohd Hanapi, Idawaty AhmadAt present, Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is the most popular Internet access technology because of its robust wireless connectivity that can support data, voice, video and messaging traffic. This advantage has significantly increased the number of users availing themselves of these services through various devices. Such an increase in the number of users has also increased network traffic. Thus, scheduling algorithms … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 12 · 20 Dec 2017 · 7,822 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDetecting an Anomaly Behavior through Enhancing the Mechanism of Packet FilteringMohammed Nazeh Abdul Wahid, Azizol AbdullahThe fundamental task of the Network Traffic Analysis is the ability of capturing and monitoring all the network traffics (incoming and outgoing) for local area network LAN and how the network analyzer is able to analyze and detect errors or any type of suspicious activities such as intruders. The idea of this research is to use flexible packet filtering to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 1 Sep 2015 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Scheduling of Packets in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Priority Based Scheduling ApproachB. Booba, T.V. GopalThe packet scheduling is essential and plays an important role to sense the element nodes with resource constraints in Wireless Networks. The packet scheduling scheme also scale the energy consumption and end-to-end information transmission delay in time period and non-real-time information packets during wireless transmission. The proposed Priority based Packet Scheduling (PPS) technique has a tendency to overcome the issues … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 9 Aug 2014 · 7,091 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRandom Dummy Packet Distribution Approach for Detection of Routing Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkT. Sakthivel, R. M. Chandrasekaran, S. Vijay BhanuA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) works on the assumption that mobile nodes are cooperative. On the other hand, in practical, it may not be possible due to selfish, malicious and misbehaving nodes present in the network. These nodes are capable of interrupting the communication process and there is a potential for serious performance degradation. To improve the performance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 6 Nov 2012 · 6,974 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMultipath Adaptive Packet Dispersion for Voice ApplicationsJ. Faritha Banu, V. RamachandranProblem statement: The quality of Voice over IP applications is decided by the main factors like network capacity and technologies such as codec type, Packet Loss Concealment (PLC) and Forward Error Correction (FEC). Approach: In MPLS networks multiple Label Switched Paths (LSP) are established between MPLS ingress and egress nodes to enhance the network performance and QoS for subscribers. To … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 27 Jan 2012 · 7,716 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleApplying Packet Generator for Secure Network EnvironmentMohammed N. Abdul Wahid, Zuriati Ahmed ZulkarnainProblem statement: Viruses and hacker attacks typically generate a recognizable pattern or “signature” of packets. Most of Network Traffic Analyzer can identify these packets and alert the administrator to their presence on the network via email or page. Approach: Most traffics analyzers let you set alarms to be triggered when a particular pattern is seen. Results: Some network traffic analyzers … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,264 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAdvanced Information Technology of Slot-Switching Network Schemes for on All-Optical Variable-Length PacketSoung Yue Liew, Edward Sek Khin Wong, Choong Kwai FattProblem Statement: The purpose of this paper was to investigate all optical packet switching, because it was the key to the success of the future Internet. It can meet the stringent bandwidth requirement of future Internet applications, such as real-time video streaming. Due to the lack of optical Random Access Memory (RAM), however, the all-optical schemes studied in the literature … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,186 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePredicting Packet Transmission Data over IP Networks Using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference SystemsSamira Chabaa, Abdelouhab ZeroualProblem statement: The statistical modeling for predicting network traffic has now become a major tool used for network and is of significant interest in many domains: Adaptive application, congestion and admission control, wireless, network management and network anomalies. To comprehend the properties of IP-network traffic and system conditions, many kinds of reports based on measured network traffic data have been … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 7,533 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Novel Packet Marketing Method in DDoS Attack DetectionChanghyun Beak, Junaid Ahsenali Chaudhry, Keonsoo Lee et al.Functionality and availability are one of the main characteristics of internet and hence very inviting for attackers to try to provoke a denial-of-service attack. As the intensity and frequency of DDoS attacks has increased, various preventive mechanisms have also been proposed. One of the most effective defence mechanisms proposed was Path Identification (Pi). This method tracks the packet transmission path. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2007 · 7,076 accessesView PDFCite
