How the journal works

Every article is published open access the day it is ready. Each article shows the licence printed on it. Articles published since 2021 are under CC BY 4.0; most published from 2015 to 2020 are under CC BY 3.0; earlier articles are mostly free to read under the publisher’s copyright, and some carry CC BY 3.0. Authors keep the copyright of articles under a CC BY licence. Manuscripts get single-anonymised peer review by at least two reviewers; an editor never handles a manuscript they wrote or have a conflict with. We follow COPE’s guidelines.
