Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Improved TCP Connection Protocol over Wireless Mobile Networks with Mobile Nodes HandoffMaen M. Al AssafProblem Statement: This study proposes a TCP layer protocol (Div-TCP) that aims to give a solution for communication over wireless mobile networks that have the occurrence of handoff at anytime. It describes a topology of wireless mobile network and the handoff process as an ordinary process in that type of networks which may cause segments losses. Approach: Wireless mobile networks … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,675 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSystem of One to Three Umpire Security System for Wireless Mobile Ad hoc NetworkC. Rajabhushanam, A. KathirvelProblem statement: A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a self-created self-organized and self-administering set of nodes connected via wireless links without the aid of any fixed infrastructure or centralized administrator. Protecting the network layer from malicious attacks is an important and challenging issue in both wired and wireless networks and the issue becomes even more challenging in the case … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 7,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSecure Enhanced Authenticated Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksM. Rajesh Babu, S. SelvanProblem statement: This study propose an improvement of Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Routing protocol in order to include some of the aspects of ad hoc networks such as load balancing, congestion avoidance and avoidance of link breakage. Approach: The most important problem nowadays is link breakage which mainly occurs due to excessive load and congestion in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,620 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnhancing the Performance of Wireless Routing Protocols of MANET using AIYahia Hasan JazyahThe main goal of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is connecting mobile devices directly without central point (peer to peer), which makes it popular area of research. MANET is running using routing protocols that enable mobile devices (nodes) to communicate to each other. Different types of routing protocols have been designed that depend on different strategies in order to establish … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 10 · 28 Oct 2021 · 6,407 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFault Node Detection and Connectivity Restoration with Mobile Relay Node in Wireless Sensor NetworksM.P. Anuradha, A.M. Swetha, Manivannan DoraipandianIn Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), node failure is an imperative concern in a hostile environment. These node failures create disjoints in the network and leads to a network partitioning problem. It is important for the nodes to be alive and communicate with each other to check the network connectivity. Replacement of Mobile Relay Nodes (MRN) in the location of faulty … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 4 · 1 Apr 2020 · 7,917 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Comparative Study of Mobility Models for Wireless Sensor NetworksAnas Abu TalebWireless sensor networks consist of hundreds or thousands of small, lightweight and low-powered sensor nodes that are deployed in the area of interest to collect information in an unattended manner. Since sensor nodes have limited battery, many research papers proposed techniques to enhance the performance and lifetime of wireless sensor networks. Using energy rich mobile sink to collect data from … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 10 · 10 Oct 2018 · 8,063 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of a Hybrid Power Module for Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks: Towards a Livestock Tracking and Identification SystemMolaletsa Namoshe, Oduetse Matsebe, Obakeng MaphaneSmart technology and Internet of Things (IoT) applications have gained popularity in the development of agricultural systems with Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) increasingly becoming the building blocks for IoT applications. However, WSNs have a limited power supply. As a result, these systems have a short lifespan, limited memory and low computing power. This paper describes the development of a hybrid … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 23 Oct 2017 · 7,764 accessesView PDFCite
Literature ReviewOpen accessIn the abstractObject Tracking in Wireless Sensor Networks: Challenges and SolutionsShereen Ismail, Eman Alkhader, Said ElnaffarWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are small, inexpensive and battery-operated sensor nodes that are deployed over a geographical area. WSNs are used in many applications such border patrolling, military intrusion detection, wildlife animal monitoring, surveillance of natural disasters and healthcare systems. Mobile object tracking is a vital task in all these applications. The goal of this work is to highlight the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 4 · 1 May 2016 · 7,777 accessesView PDFCite
Research NotesOpen accessIn the abstractA Comprehensive Study on Mobility Issues in AODVThiripurasundari SivakrishnakumarAd-hoc network plays an important role in wireless networks as they are self-configured and can be operated independently with limited resources. The critical issue is to assess the performance of routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) due to the frequent changes in network topology. Here the Ad-hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol, which is quite susceptible … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 10 · 2 Jan 2016 · 6,722 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Handover in WiMax with TCP and UDP as Underlying ProtocolKaram Dhafer Mayoof, Rosilah Hassan, Amjed Sid Ahmed, Ahmed MarwanThe rejection of an ongoing connection/session is serious problem and it degrades the QoS and efficiency of the network rather than rejecting a request for new connection. The impact on performance of handovers is a serious problem in cellular systems that must be addressed. During handover there may be delay in packets and connections may drop. Real time applications i.e., … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 12 Dec 2015 · 7,244 accessesView PDFCite
