Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleLive Migration of Virtual Machines using Mirroring TechniqueEzhilarasie Rajapackiyam, Arvind Venkatesa Subramanian, Umamakeswari ArumugamVirtualization is a key concept in empowering the “Infrastructure as- a-Service (IaaS)” of cloud-based services. Live migration of virtual machines is the process of moving virtual machine from one physical host to another without interrupting other VMs. Migration of VMs supports the improved efficiency of resource usage and dynamic resource provision capabilities. The performance metrics of live migration are down … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 4 · 31 Mar 2020 · 8,248 accessesView PDFCite

MakwanaCloud computing is an internet based computing technology that provide on demand computing for end users. Normally, data centers allocation for application on statically based. But today so many data centers have a problem how to reduce energy consumption? Due to increase use of cloud services and infrastructure by various cloud providers, uses of energy day by day increase that's … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 9 · 24 Nov 2016 · 7,356 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Comparative Analysis of Task Scheduling Algorithms of Virtual Machines in Cloud EnvironmentSaleh Atiewi, Salman Yussof, Mohd EzaneeCloud computing is an interesting and beneficial area in modern distributed computing. It enables millions of users to use the offered services through their own devices or terminals. Cloud computing offers an environment with low cost, ease of use and low power consumption by utilizing server virtualization in its offered services (e.g., Infrastructure as a Service). The pool of Virtual … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 18 Sep 2015 · 7,642 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleTowards Solving the Problem of Virtual Machine Placement in Cloud Computing: A Job Classification ApproachAuday Al-Dulaimy, Ahmed Zekri, Wassim Itani, Rached ZantoutCloud Computing is a paradigm that delivers services by providing an access to wide range of shared resources which are hosted in cloud data centers. One of the recent challenges in this paradigm is to enhance the energy efficiency in these data centers. In this study, a model that identifies common patterns for the jobs submitted to the cloud is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 3 · 8 Apr 2016 · 7,283 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSolving Linear Programming Problems on the Parallel Virtual Machine EnvironmentJrJung Lyu, Hsing Luh, Ming-Chang LeeThis study developed a parallel algorithm to efficiently solve linear programming models. The proposed algorithm utilizes the Dantzig-Wolfe Decomposition Principle and can be easily implemented in a general distributed computing environment. The analytical performance of the well-known method, including the speedup upper bound and lower bound limits, was derived. Numerical experiments are also provided in order to verify the complexity … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2004 · 7,837 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFramework for the Adaptive Learning of Higher Education Students in Virtual Classes in Peru Using CRISP-DM and Machine LearningMaryori Bautista, Sebastian Alfaro, Lenis WongDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual education played a significant role around the world. In post-pandemic Peru, higher education institutions did not entirely dismiss the online education modality. However, this virtual education system maintains a traditional teaching-learning model, where all students receive the same content material and are expected to learn in the same way; as a result, it has not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 5 · 26 Feb 2024 · 5,885 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRationalizing Resource Utilization in Cloud Computing Using Coalition Formation StrategyHend Fakhri Noureldin, Mai FadelEven though the contribution of cloud computing towards the Sustainable Development (SD) of communities is still under research investigation, cloud computing has become an integral part of many ICT solutions that shape our daily lives. Thus, some researchers recommend taking considerable actions to point cloud computing development towards supporting SD. In this research, an approach to designing energy efficient cloud … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 6 · 15 Jun 2021 · 6,978 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Optimized Mobile Cloud Computational Offloading Framework using K-Means AlgorithmMeena Veeraiyan, S. Kousika, J. Senthilkumar, Joy Christy AntonysamiOffloading the execution of heavy computational modules from mobile devices to Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) is inevitable in today’s era as it mainly focuses in consuming less battery power and execution time. But, the problem incurred with identifying the most optimal cloud device to map each module still remains a challenge in cloud computing environment. In this paper, a novel … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 2 · 31 Jan 2020 · 8,084 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDISTRIBUTIVE POWER MIGRATION AND MANAGEMENT ALGORITHM FOR CLOUD ENVIRONMENTP. Prakash, G. Kousalya, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Kawshik K. RangarajuIn cloud computing, the resources are provided as service over the internet on demand basis. The resources such as servers, networks, storage, applications are dynamically scaled and virtualized. The demand grows gradually for each virtual machine in a cloud computing environment over time. So, it is necessary to manage the resources under each cluster to match the demand in order … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 29 Nov 2013 · 6,505 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImpatient Task Mapping in Elastic Cloud using Genetic AlgorithmNawfal A. Mehdi, Ali Mamat, Hamidah Ibrahim, Shamala K. SubramaniamProblem statement: Task scheduling is the main factor that determines the performance of any distributed system. Cloud computing comes with a paradigm of distributed datacenters. Each datacenter consists of physical machines that host virtual machines to execute customers’ tasks. Resources allocation on the cloud is different from other paradigms and the mapping algorithms need to be adapted to the new … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 8,034 accessesView PDFCite
