Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleComparison of Distance Measurement Between Stereo Vision and Ultrasonic SensorSurachai PanichProblem statement: The traditional approaches in mobile robot research are the use of stereo vision systems to extract range information from pairs of images. One of the difficulties of techniques in navigation is that the intrinsic computational expense of extracting three dimensional information from stereo pairs of images. Approach: To compare performance sensor readings from environment between stereo vision and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 30 Jul 2010 · 7,244 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsWireless Communication with a Microprocessor Based Ultrasonic Meter for Flow MeasurementsMahmoud Z. IskandaraniProblem statement: Although the traditional metering system and method for controlling flow is generally safe, reliable and robust, it does suffer certain drawbacks, such as limited accuracy and the ability to implement complex reactive rate designs. Hence, there is a need for a circuit and method of increasing metering accuracy, as well as the position control accuracy for variable flow … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,584 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExtraction Optimization and Antibacterial Property of Total Flavonoids from Zizania Latifolia Bracts and the Effect on Chilled Pork PreservationChen Pan, Shuyi Zhu, Na Niu et al.Zizania latifolia isa widely distributed aquatic vegetable, and its bracts are an agriculturalwaste with a large proportion. In this study, Total Flavonoids of Z. latifoliaBracts (TFZB) were extracted with Ultrasound-Assisted Enzymatic Extraction(UAEE) for the first time, and the extraction process was optimized usingResponse Surface Method (RSM), and compared with other methods. Then, theantibacterial activity of TFZB extracted with optimized UAEE … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 18, Issue 3 · 15 Sep 2022 · 6,011 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIoT-Based Waste Height and Weight Monitoring SystemTedi Gunawan, Elis Hernawati, Bayu Rima AdityaOver the past decade, the use of smart waste monitoring systems has become a popular way of waste management. This system generally makes it easier for scavengers and household users to monitor the status of the level of waste in the trash. This study aims to create an innovative IoT-based intelligent waste monitoring system to facilitate waste monitoring for households. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 11 · 29 Nov 2021 · 9,374 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTesting by Non-Destructive ControlRelly Victoria Virgil Petrescu, Raffaella Aversa, Bilal Akash et al.This paper describes an application of industrial robots that gain ground mainly in the aerospace industry. It is a TTT manipulator whose task is to automatically position the end-effector, in this case a complex sensor system and a eddy-current probe in the position set by the software application for testing by non-destructive ultrasound control of tickets and bars of titanium, … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 5 Jun 2017 · 8,698 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUltrasonic Dental Scaler Performance Assessment with an Innovative CavitometerAntonio Henrique Alves Pereira, Camila Tirapelli, Lucimar Antonio RodolphoProblem statement: There is no specific instrument to test ultrasonic dental scalers used in dentistry. Approach: The aim of this research was to develop and test an innovative cavitometer for quantitative and automatic performance assessments of Ultrasonic Dental Scalers (UDS) through the acoustic emission produced by cavitation induced by the tip of the UDS ultrasonic transducer when immersed in aqueous … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,535 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSpeed Estimation of Adaptive Fuzzy-Controlled Piezo-Electric Motor using MLP-Neural NetworkShebel ALSABBAH, Tariq MUGHRABIThe speed of ultrasonic motor of piezo-electric type is usually measured using mechanical sensors such as pulse encoders. However, these sensors are costly and bulky. In this paper, a numerical speed estimation approach of a piezo-electric motor (PEM) is implemented using multilayer perception neural network (MLP-NN). The proposed model evaluates rotational speed and load torque based on the amplitude and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,785 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Modeling Approach for Collision Avoidance in Robotic SurgeryReza Ramezanifard, Javad Dargahi, Siamak Najarian, Farhad Tabatabai GhomsheWe present a new system that can be used in combination with an array of ultrasonic piezoelectric sensors and has application in surgical navigation procedures. Using the proposed assembly, the maneuverability of the surgical tools can be enhanced and the incidence of potentially damaging contact with non-target tissue can be reduced. The emphasis of our work was based on controlling … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 6,795 accessesView PDFCite
