Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSuppression of Instabilities and Stochastic Pulsation at Laser-Plasma Interaction by Beam SmoothingFrederick Osman, Heinrich HoraThe key problem of direct drive laser fusion is the appearance of parametric instabilities, stochastic pulsation, self-focusing (filamentation) and other anomalies. During the long years studies, the empirical and intuitively developed methods for smoothing of the laser beam were rather successful but a transparent understanding of the physics has still to be found. The first theory how the instabilities are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2004 · 6,796 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Enhanced Algorithm for Small Object Detection based on Thermal Imaging Using YOLOv8-EPBRavina Gupta, Sarika Jain, Manoj KumarObject detection is one of the most important and challenging problems in the computer vision domain. Using the power of deep models, researchers have carefully explored and made significant contributions to increasing the effectiveness of object detection and related tasks, such as object identification, localization, and segmentation. This progress is due to the rapid progress of deep learning in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 6 · 13 Jun 2025 · 4,212 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Industrially Promising Keratinase Isolated from Aspergillus aureolatus Changes its Substrate Specificity after pH-Mediated AutolysisArina Mokhova, Anna ShestakovaMicrobial proteolytic enzymes are green catalysts with many potential applications. Keratinolytic enzymes (or keratinases) are crucial for efficient keratin degradation, making them essential in waste management, biomedicine, cosmetics, and various industrial applications. This study describes the production and characterization of a protease with keratinolytic activity from Aspergillus aureolatus. The protease was isolated from the culture fluid on the 5th day … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 21, Issue 1 · 14 Feb 2025 · 5,580 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExamination of Laminated Glass with Stiff Interlayers – Numerical and Experimental ResearchJulian Hänig, Paulina Bukieda, Michael Engelmann et al.Glass is a linear-elastic and isotropic building material which allows for a quick calculation of internal forces and stress in the design stage. However, in safety applications, e.g. overhead glazing or balustrades, it is made into laminated glass using plastic interlayers. Their material properties change over time and are temperature-dependent. Additionally, larger spans and the demand to reduce the amount … …International Journal of Structural Glass and Advanced Materials Research, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 25 Jan 2019 · 13,559 accessesView PDF Cite
