Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleFlexible Topology Migration in Optical Cross Add and Drop Multiplexer in Metropolitan Ring NetworkMohammad Syuhaimi Ab-RahmanProblem statement: Optical Cross Add and Drop Multiplexer (OXADM) is a recently invented optical networks device. Approach: A design with a purpose to combine the operational concepts of Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (OADM) and Optical Cross Connect (OXC) has been developed. It is developed by studying the drawbacks in existing devices and with some excellence features added. OXADM is introduced to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 28 Jan 2012 · 6,635 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Discrete Event Modeling and Simulation of Wave Division Multiplexing Unidirectional Slotted Ring Metropolitan Area NetworkH. A. Fua’ad, S. Shamala, M. Othman, Z. ZuriatiProblem statement: The lack of uniformity in the choice of simulation platforms for optical WDM networks stands behind the difficulty of developing a common simulation environment. Correlating WDM unidirectional slotted ring network to Discrete Event Simulation (DES) encompassing event definition, time advancing mechanism and scheduler has yet to be developed. Approach: The study focused on the proposed and the development … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2009 · 6,680 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAnonymous and Distributed Authentication for Peer-to-Peer NetworksPasan Tennakoon, Supipi Karunathilaka, Rishikeshan Lavakumar et al.Well-known authentication mechanisms such as Public-key Infrastructure (PKI) and Identity-based Public-key Certificates (ID-PKC) are not suitable for integration in a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network environment, the reason being either the lack of or the difficulty in maintaining a centralized authority to manage the certificates. Authentication becomes even harder in anonymous environments. In this study, we present three authentication protocols such that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 1 · 3 Jan 2023 · 6,539 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsHardware Design of Wireless Physical Token Ring System for Mobile and Cell CommunicationNidal F. Shilbayeh, Mahmoud Z. IskandaraniA wireless network system based on an infrared and Laser scanning Physical Token Ring architecture (W-PTRS) was designed, built and tested successfully. The network provides a different way of utilizing the concept of a token ring network but with a higher efficiency related to the speed of data transfer and the ability to parallel process client-server requests leading to a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2004 · 6,789 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsErgodic Capacity Analysis of Multiple Input Multiple Output Systems with Dual Hop Amplify and Forward Relay NetworksC. Poongodi, A. ShanmugamProblem Statement: In MIMO system, capacity mainly depends on the channel and the antenna characteristics. The capacity can be improved by proper design of antenna elements and choosing appropriate array configuration and the directive elements give more capacity than omni directional elements. The dual polarized antennas are better than single polarized antennas as the former can provide two information channels. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,739 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe use of Random Forest Classification and K-means Clustering Algorithm for Detecting Time Stamped Signatures in the Active NetworksKamalanaban Ethala, R. Shesadri, N. G. RenganathanIn day to day information security infrastructure, intrusion detection is indispensible. Signature based intrusion detection system mechanisms are often available in detecting many types of attacks. But this mechanism alone is not sufficient in many cases. Another intrusion detection method viz K-means is employed for clustering and classifying the unlabelled data. IDS is a special embedded device or relied software … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 18 Jun 2013 · 7,496 accessesView PDF Cite
