Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Assessment of CPU Scheduling Algorithms: A Scenario-Based Approach with FCFS, RR, and SJFOlaa Hajjar, Escelle Mekhallalati, Nada Annwty et al.This study presents an extensive examination of CPU scheduling algorithms, focusing on the First-Come, First-Served (FCFS), Round-Robin (RR), and Shortest-Job-First (SJF) strategies through a carefully designed scenario-based approach. By deploying a Java-based simulation to dynamically generate random process arrival and burst times, this study simulates a variety of operational conditions to test these scheduling algorithms’ adaptability and performance in environments … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 9 · 16 Jun 2024 · 9,091 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Analysis of Two Famous Cryptographic Algorithms on Mixed DataEmmanuel Abidemi Adeniyi et al.The rapid development of digital data sharing has made information security a crucial concern in data communication. The information security system heavily relies on encryption methods. These algorithms employ strategies to increase data secrecy and privacy by obscuring the information, which only those parties who have the accompanying key can decode or decrypt. Nevertheless, these methods also use a lot … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 6 · 29 May 2023 · 6,020 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Machine Learning-Based Algorithms to Predict the Early Childhood Development Among Under Five Children in BangladeshMd. Ismail Hossain, Iqramul Haq, Ashis Talukder et al.In this research, an effort has been made to apply a number of classifiers to predict Early Child Development (ECD) in the context of Bangladesh using the Bangladesh multiple indicator cluster survey, 2019 data set (i.e., to evaluate which sort of algorithm best identifies ECDI). To predict the ECD, nine well-known machine learning algorithms were applied, including Linear Regression (LR), … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 5 · 5 May 2023 · 6,838 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnomaly Detection Algorithms for Streaming Data: Performance ComparisonZirije HasaniToday’s most of the data are streaming time-series data, where is very important anomaly detection over this data because gives significant information of possible critical situations. Detecting anomalies in big streaming data is yet difficult task because we have to process them in real time, even before they are stored and instantly alarm on potential threats. For real time streaming … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 7 · 18 Jul 2020 · 7,288 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Analysis of Classification Algorithms on Medical Diagnoses-a SurveyS. Vanaja, K. RameshkumarThe aim of this research paper is to study and discuss the various classification algorithms applied on different kinds of medical datasets and compares its performance. The classification algorithms with maximum accuracies on various kinds of medical datasets are taken for performance analysis. The result of the performance analysis shows the most frequently used algorithms on particular medical dataset and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 22 Sep 2014 · 7,359 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePERFORMANCE OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL PROTOCOL CONGESTIONCONTROL ALGORITHMS ON TELEDESIC SATELLITES CONSTELLATIONSM. Nirmala, Ramachandra V. PujeriSatellite networking is different from wired or wireless networks. TCP/IP performance and behavior with respect to normal wireless network and wired networks are different from one another. As the architecture of TCP/IP protocol was not designed to perform well over high-latency or noisy channels and so its performance over satellite networks are totally different. The properties of satellite constellations such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 22 Feb 2014 · 7,043 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleComparative Study of Performance in Cryptography Algorithms (Blowfish and Skipjack)Ali Ahmad Milad, Hjh Zaiton Muda, Zul Azri Bin Muhamad Noh, Mustafa Almahdi AlgaetProblem statement: The main goal guiding the design of any encryption algorithm needs to be secured against unauthorized attacks. For all applied applications, performance and the cost of implementations are also important concerns. A data encryption algorithm would not be of much use if it is secure enough but slow in performance because it is a common repetition to embed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 7 Jul 2012 · 8,018 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Analysis of Resource Selection Algorithms in Grid Computing EnvironmentMalarvizhi Nandagopal, Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: Meta- scheduling has become important due to increased number of jobs and resources in the area of grid computing to achieve the objectives of grid users and grid resources. Approach: A variety of factors need to be considered for effective scheduling of resources in such environments such as total time job spend in the grid system, global and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 4 Apr 2011 · 6,899 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleComparative Performance of Supervised Learning Algorithms for Flood Prediction in Kemaman, TerengganuNur Najihah Shaaban, Norlida Hassan, Aida Mustapha, Salama A. MostafaFlood is one of the most destructive phenomena all over the world. Because the flooding uncertainties and the urgency to prepare for disaster management, three specific technique approaches are compared in this study to predict the flood occurrence based on historical rainfall data.
