Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMedical Images Registration based on Normalized Dissimilarity IndexAmina KHARBACH, Mouad EL OMARI, Amar MARDANI et al.Image registration is an essential step in a large number of processing chains for medical images. It is used to align two images taken at different times and from different sensors as well. In this paper, we are interested in the rigid registration and similarity measures. We describe a new registration approach, based on the normalized dissimilarity index that results … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 9 · 28 Sep 2017 · 7,527 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRanking of Simultaneous Equation Techniques to Small Sample Properties and Correlated Random DeviatesA. A. Adepoju, J. O. OlaomiProblem statement: All simultaneous equation estimation methods have some desirable asymptotic properties and these properties become effective in large samples. This study is relevant since samples available to researchers are mostly small in practice and are often plagued with the problem of mutual correlation between pairs of random deviates which is a violation of the assumption of mutual independence between … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,594 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractClassification of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Based on Gene Expression in Cases of Smokers and Non-Smokers using Ensemble Methods with Statistical Based Feature SelectionFhira Nhita, Isman KurniawanLung cancer is one of the leading causes of death globally. One of the main risk factors for lung can ceris smoking, which causes more than 90% of lung cancer cases. There are two types of lung cancer, i.e., Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), which the latter is the most common. One method that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 10 · 30 Sep 2022 · 6,093 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFSH Receptor and Ki-67 Protein Expressions of Endometrial Macaque in Mid-Luteal Phase after Exposure to Various Doses of Recombinant FSH and Fixed-Dose of GnRH AgonistNurhuda Sahar, Ponco Birowo, Rosalina Thuffi et al.There are many advances in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs). However, implantation rates are still low. The embryo implantation is a mutual interaction between the blastocyst and endometrium. This study aimed to investigate the endometrial cell proliferation stimulated by recombinant Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (rFSH) in various doses by looking at FSH-Receptor (FSHR) and Ki-67 protein expressions. The studied samples were Stored Biological … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 21, Issue 2 · 28 May 2021 · 6,347 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFactors Influencing Commitment of Volunteers’ in Neighborhood Watch OrganizationV. B. Thomas, S. Selvadurai, A. C. Er et al.Problem statement: Social ties become less cohesive as society becomes urbanized. The need for social institutions to redress this state of affairs is crucial. There are two objectives of this research: (i) to examine the commitment level of volunteer residents participation in neighborhood watch organization and (ii) to identify attitudinal and motivational factors that influence their level of commitment. Approach: … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 15 Sep 2011 · 7,990 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImprovement of Image Matching by using the Proximity Criterion: Application to Omnidirectional and Perspective ImagesIbrahim Guelzim, Ahmed Hammouch, Driss AboutajdineProblem statement: In computer vision, matching is an important phase for several applications (object reconstruction, robot navigation ...). The similarity measures used provided results which could be improved. Approach: This research proposed to improve image matching by using the proximity criterion. The similarity measures used mutual information and correlation coefficient. The matching was done between neighborhoods of points of interest … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 15 Jul 2011 · 6,672 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractApplication of MultiScale Hidden Markov Modeling Wavelet Coefficients to fMRI Activation DetectionFangyuan Nan, Yaonan Wang, Xiaoping MaProblem Statement: The problem of detection of functional magnetic resonance images (fMRIs), that is, to decide active and nonactive regions of human brain from fMRIs is studied in this paper. fMRI research is finding and will find more and more applications in diagnosing and treating brain diseases like depression and schizophrenia. At its initial stage fMRI detection are pixel-wise methods, … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,546 accessesView PDF Cite
