Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleThe Impact of Carbon Tax on Agricultural Output, Employment, and Rural Income in Indonesia: Insights from an Energy Input-Output ModelSyahrituah Siregar, Luthfy Fatah, M. Handry Imansyah, SunardiThe agricultural sector in Indonesia is crucial for the national economy, contributing significantly to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and sustaining the livelihoods of millions in rural areas. In light of increasing global environmental concerns, this study examines the potential impacts of a proposed carbon tax on agricultural production, employment, and rural household income in Indonesia. Utilizing the Miyazawa energy input-output … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 25, Issue 2 · 12 Jun 2025 · 3,398 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImproved 3D Imaging Performance of AFMMd Sohel RanaOver the last three decades the Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) has played an important role in the field of nanotechnology for imaging and manipulating samples. However, the acquisition of a high-quality imaging performance by an AFM is significantly influenced by its key scanning element called its Piezoelectric Tube Actuator (PTA). In this article, to improve its performance, a multi-input multi-output … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 28 Jan 2020 · 7,299 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImpact of University Budget Cuts on the Local Economy: Case for a Regional UniversityKalyan ChakrabortyProblem statement: Considering the economic downturn and state-wide revenue shortfall almost all of the states have reduced their spending on higher education. The problem addressed in this study was to assess the economic impact of university budget reductions on the local and state economy of Kansas. Approach: The study used regional multipliers from an input-output model developed by Bureau of … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,389 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsInput-Output Feedback Linearization Cascade Controller Using Genetic Algorithm for Rotary Inverted Pendulum SystemIraj Hassanzadeh, Saleh Mobayen, Abbas HarifiThe Rotary Inverted Pendulum (RIP) system is a significant classical problem of control engineering which has been investigated in the past decades. This study presents an optimum Input- Output Feedback Linearization (IOFL) cascade controller utilized Genetic Algorithm (GA). Due to the non-minimum phase behavior of the system, IOFL controller leads to unstable internal dynamics. Therefore a cascade structure is proposed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2008 · 7,414 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPredicting Antigenic Peptides Using a Multi-Level Transformer Model with Enhanced Feature SelectionAshwini S., Minu R. I., Jeevan KumarThis Antigenic Peptide (APs) prediction is one of the most important roles to improve vaccine design and interpret immune responses. This paper develops a Multi-Level Pooling-based Transformer model, which improves the accuracy and efficiency of predicting T-cell epitopes. The model utilizes peptide sequences from the Immune Epitope Database, employing a refined Kolaskar and Tongaonkar algorithm for feature extraction and a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 7 · 17 Jul 2025 · 3,451 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCustomized Named Entity Recognition Using Bert for the Social Learning Management System Platform CourseNetworkingKayal Padmanandam, KVN Sunitha, Behafarid Mohammad Jafari et al.Named Entity Recognition (NER) is an information extraction task and one of the most researched applications to extract knowledge from massive data. Conventional NER systems identify predefined entities like name, person, location, organization, time, etc. However, there is a limitation to identifying user-defined entities that are specific to an application. This challenge introduces the concept of customized NER. For instance, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 1 · 15 Dec 2023 · 6,991 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Classical Design Approach of Cascaded Controllers for a Traction ElevatorUko Victor Sorochi, Kamalu Ugochukwu Anamelechi, Nwokocha Doris Adaugo, Uko Ebenezer UgochukwuA traction elevator is a control system that can be driven by Direct Current (DC) motors. Premised on the reviewed literature, operations of control systems incorporated with DC motors are restrained by nonlinearities that deviate the controlled variables (position, speed, and torque) from the reference input. Controllers designed with appropriate gains annul the nonlinearities inhibiting the operation of a traction … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 16, Issue 3 · 16 Aug 2023 · 6,029 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImproving Arabic Named Entity Recognition with a Modified Transformer EncoderHamid Sadeq Mahdi Alsultani, Ahmed H. AliwyThis article investigates the use of a transformer encoder for Arabic Named Entity Recognition (NER). The classic transformer that was originally proposed for machine translation adopts the absolute sinusoidal position embedding which is aware of distance but unfortunately is not aware of the directionality. However, in the NER task, both distance and orientation are crucial. Therefore, in this study, instead … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 5 · 10 Apr 2023 · 5,337 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractModeling and Simulation of the Impact of Temperature on Single Point Load Cell using Trnsys 16.0: Measured, Uncompensated and Error Data for Zaria Kaduna StateAlbright A. Edet, Afolayan M. O., Umar A. UmarA load cell is a piece of machined metal called a transducer or load sensor. As a measuring device, the entire framework is prone to the impact of environmental forces which can produce errors in the load cell output. The most significant force or input modifier is high ambient temperature. Typical meteorological year document demonstrates that in March, April, and … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 7 Jun 2022 · 5,728 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPredicting Depression Levels using Back Propagation Neural NetworkEddy Muntina Dharma, Yaya Heryadi, Lukas et al.Depression is a mood disorder characterized by feelings of deep sadness and a sense of indifference. When depression recurs in moderate or severe intensity, it can be a serious health condition. The most effective way to deal with this problem is to predict the symptoms of depression at an early stage.
