Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleStabilization of Tyrosinase-Bovine Serum Albumin Crystals by GlutaraldehydeD. Norouzian, A. Akbarzadeh, M.H. Abnosi et al.Tyrosinase and bovine serum albumin were co-crystallized by saturated ammonium sulfate solution(65%) and 20% polyethylene glycol ( PEG) 6000 and n-propanol as co-solvents .The obtained crystals were cross linked by glutaraldehyde solution(1% v/v).Polyethylene glycol 6000 was found to be better co-solvent than n-propanol. The developed biocatalyst could be recycled 6 times without further loss of tyrosinase activity. No loss of … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2007 · 7,194 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptical Properties of Crosslinked Chitosan Thin Film with Glutaraldehyde Using Surface Plasmon Resonance TechniqueYap Wing Fen, W. Mahmood Mat Yunus, Mohd Maarof Moksin et al.Problem statement: The aim of this research is to study the optical properties of crosslinked chitosan thin film with glutaraldehyde using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) technique. Approach: The crosslinked chitosan is synthesized by homogeneous reaction of medium molecular weight chitosan in aqueous acetic acid solution with glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent. Four different amount of chitosan, i.e., 0.40, 0.50, 0.60 and … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 28 Jan 2011 · 9,624 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractControlled Release Behaviors of Tribenuron Methyl Herbicide and Potassium Nitrate Fertilizer from Natural Polymer Blended Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Hydrogel MicrospheresFawzi Habeeb Jabrail, Wajeeh Mohammed Jamil, Maher Zeki Elsabee, Kailash Chandra GuptaPolyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) hydrogel microspheres for controlled release of fertilizer (KNO3) and Tribenuron Methyl Herbicide (TBM) were prepared by blending the naturally occurring Alginate (AL) and Pectin (PE). The cross-linking in PVA hydrogel microspheres was carried out by varying the amount of glutaraldehyde from 0.5-1.0 wt%. To control the loading and release properties of PVA hydrogel microspheres, a small amount … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 16, Issue 5 · 13 Jul 2019 · 7,673 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImmobilized Whole Cell System with Methyl Parathion-Degrading Activity for Organophosphate Insecticide DetectionChadaporn Pootawee, Witsanu Senbua, Jesdawan WichitwechkarnAs the result of the extensive use and high contamination of organophosphate (OP) insecticides in agricultural products and the environment, especially in developing countries, a simple and convenient means for OP detection and screening was investigated. Whole cells from the recombinant clone BpGP carrying methyl parathion (MP) degrading, mpdB, gene originating from MP-degrading Burkholderia cepacia and possessing MP-degrading activity were … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 18, Issue 3 · 18 Sep 2018 · 7,673 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractProbing the Substrate Specificity and Intersubunit Interactions of Brevundimonas Diminuta Glutaryl Acylase with Site-Directed MutagenesisMichael Eldarov, Anna Lyashenko, Tatyana Sherbakova et al.Glutaryl-7-ACA acylases (GLA) are industrial enzymes widely used for the production of 7-aminocepahlosporanic acid (7-ACA)-the starting compound for manufacturing of semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotics. Generation of mutant GLA's with increased activity and stability, capability for single-step conversion of cephalosporin C (CPC) directly to 7-ACA is a promising route to improve the current biocatalytic technologies. In this study GLA from Brevundimonas diminuta … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 12 Nov 2014 · 8,160 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStructure of Lamellae and Chloride Cell in the Gill of Alosa Caspio Caspio (Clupeidae, Teleostei)Z. Saadatfar, D. ShahsavaniAs a surface for respiratory gas diffusion, ion regulation and waste excretion, gill epithelium of Alosa Caspio Caspio has been investigated. Problem statement: Surely, morphological study of gill cells is the main route for giving the basic data which can be inductive for physiological and pathological investigations. Approach: Gills were removed from Alosa Caspio which is from euryhaline species and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 13 Jun 2011 · 6,881 accessesView PDFCite
