Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMeasuring Uncertainty to Extract Fuzzy Membership Functions in Recommender SystemsHeersh Azeez Khorsheed, Sadegh AminifarNowadays, due to the high volume of choices for customers which causes confusion, the use of recommender systems is strongly growing. Of course, existing systems have two problems, one is complexity and the other is failure to consider uncertainty. In this article, we have reduced the complexity of the system by using a fuzzy innovative system and solved the problem … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 11 · 15 Oct 2023 · 5,491 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAutomatic Methods for Generation of Type-1 and Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Membership FunctionsAndréia Alves dos Santos Schwaab, Silvia Modesto Nassar, Paulo José de Freitas FilhoGeneration of membership functions is an important step in construction of fuzzy systems. Since membership functions reflect what is known about the variables involved in a problem, when they are correctly modeled the system will behave in the manner that is expected in the context of the problem being addressed. Since their creation, type-1 membership functions have been used in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 20 Dec 2015 · 7,289 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsConfidence Interval for Cpm Based on Dp,q DistanceBahram Sadeghpour Gildeh, Samaneh AsghariProblem statement: A measurement control system ensures that measuring equipment and measurement processes are fit for their intended use and its importance in achieving product quality objectives. Approach: The manufacturing industries have been making an extensive effort to implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) in their plants and supply bases. Results: Capability indices derived from SPC have received increasing usage not … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 8 Feb 2012 · 7,477 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImproving the Accuracy of Effort Estimation through Fuzzy Set Representation of SizeCh. Satyananda Reddy, KVSVN RajuProblem statement: The precision and reliability of the effort estimation is very important for the competitiveness of software companies. The uncertainty at the input level of the Constructive Cost Model (COCOMO) yields uncertainty at the output, which leads to gross estimation error in the effort estimation. Fuzzy logic-based cost estimation models are more appropriate when vague and imprecise information was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,085 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImprovement of the Reliability of a Series-Parallel System Subject to Modified Weibull Distribution with Fuzzy ParametersNeama Salah Youssef TemrazThis paper introduce a series-parallel system consisted of independent and non-identical components with lifetimes follow the modified Weibull distribution. Reduction method is introduced to improve system reliability. Other methods of hot and cold standby duplication are established to improve system reliability. A procedure for computing the reliability of the original system and the improved systems is presented when the parameters … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 13, Issue 3 · 7 Sep 2017 · 6,943 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Approach to Develop a Dynamic Job Shop Scheduling by Fuzzy Rule Based System and Comparative Study with the Traditional Priority RulesRamin Ahmed, Md. Muzahid Khan, Md. Hasibul Haque, Md. Hasibur RahmanThis paper aims at developing a dynamic job shop scheduling by establishing fuzzy rule based system and comparing its effectiveness with the traditional priority rules. In order to understand the priorities of different jobs in a job shop, the paper investigates all the contributing criteria of different parameters. Since the traditional priority rules only emphasis on a single parameter at … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 11 Feb 2016 · 8,365 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Unique Novel Approach for Design and Analysis of A Robust Decentralized Self-Tuning Fuzzy PI Controller for a Multi Input Multi Output ProcessP. Sujatha Therese, N. Kesavan NairProblem statement: In the real world most of the controlled processes in industries are Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) in nature. They have more than a single controlled variable that should be manipulated in order to achieve the desired control performance. Approach: Control of non linear Multi Input Multi Output processes, it is a difficult task because of the non stationary behaviour, substantial … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 17 Jan 2012 · 7,004 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Optimal Path Management Strategy in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy and Rough Set TheoryP. Seethalakshmi, M. Joseph Auxilius Jude, G. RajendranProblem statement: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a network. Most of the existing ad-hoc routing algorithms select the shortest path using various resources. However the selected path may not consider all the network parameters and this would result in link instability in the network. The problems with existing methods are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 15 Oct 2011 · 7,667 accessesView PDFCite
