Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Efficient Algorithm for Tree Mapping in XML DatabasesYangjun ChenIn this article, we discuss an efficient algorithm for tree mapping problem in XML databases. Given a target tree T and a pattern tree Q, the algorithm can find all the embeddings of Q in T in O(|T||Q|) time while the existing approaches need exponential time in the worst case. …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 7 · 21 Jul 2007 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA BIO-SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM USING EFFICIENT ALGORITHM FOR INFORMATION SHARING APPLICATIONSShobhanjaly P. Nair, K. Silambarasan, N. Bindhu, R. SrinivasanBio-Surveillance represents a health information system for public that stores and integrates health related information and data across a variety of data. Bio-surveillance strategies are projected for detection of disease outbreaks from existing diagnostic data, but their performance is typically not understandable. The focus of the paper is to develop a bio-surveillance system which can serve the aim of biosurveillance … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 7 · 17 Jun 2014 · 7,038 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Efficient Algorithm for Mining Spatially Co-located Moving ObjectsG. Manikandan, S. SrinivasanMining co-location patterns from spatial databases may disclose the types of spatial features which are likely located as neighbors’ in space. Accordingly, we present an algorithm previously for mining spatially co-located moving objects using spatial data mining techniques and Prim’s Algorithm. In the previous technique, the scanning of database to mine the spatial co-location patterns took much computational cost. In … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 2 Mar 2013 · 6,649 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Efficient Algorithm for Mining Maximal Frequent Item SetsA. M.J.M.Z. Rahman, P. BalasubramanieProblem Statement: In today's life, the mining of frequent patterns is a basic problem in data mining applications. The algorithms which are used to generate these frequent patterns must perform efficiently. The objective was to propose an effective algorithm which generates frequent patterns in less time. Approach: We proposed an algorithm which was based on hashing technique and combines a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Efficient Algorithm for Capacitated Multifacility Location ProblemsChansiri Singhtaun, Peerayuth CharnsethikulIn this paper, a squared-Euclidean distance multifacility location problem with inseparable demands under balanced transportation constraints is analyzed. Using calculus to project the problem onto the space of allocation variables, the problem becomes minimizing concave quadratic integer programming problem. The algorithm based on extreme point ranking method combining with logical techniques is developed. The numerical experiments are randomly generated to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,441 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Decoding Algorithm for Binary Quadratic Residue Codes Using Reduced Permutation SetsHamza Boualame, Mostafa Belkasmi, Idriss ChanaThe Quadratic Residue (QR) codes have a rich mathematic structure. Unfortunately, their Algebraic Decoding (AD) is not generalizable for all QR codes. In this study, an efficient hard decoding algorithm is proposed to generalize the decoding of the binary systematic Quadratic Residue (QR) codes. The proposed decoder corrects t erroneous bits or less, in the received word, based on a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 4 · 3 Apr 2023 · 6,015 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Handling of Medical Data Classification in Cloud-Edge Network using Optimization AlgorithmS. S. Saranya, N. Sabiyath FatimaNowadays, a cloud-edge computing framework with IoT offers different medicinal facilities by classifying a massive amount of patients’ health data through a Deep Neural Network. But, how to optimize task scheduling while carrying multiple tasks from multiple edge devices in real-time was still challenging. This article introduces a cooperative cloud-edge computing structure to effectively perform the fuzzy DNN classification into … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2021 · 6,480 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExact Permutation Algorithm for Paired Observations: A General and Efficient VersionDavid T. MorseFor the better part of a century, methods have been illustrated for the enumeration of all possible permutations of cases from which an exact characterization of the likelihood of obtaining results as or more extreme as that observed may be determined without having to rely on parametric assumptions or schemes that may be only asymptotically correct. The challenge is the … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 5 Jan 2015 · 6,672 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Efficient Image Generation Algorithm Using Fractals and Chaos TheoryK. Thamizhchelvy, G. GeethaAn Efficient Image Generation Algorithm is proposed. It generates Message Authentication Image (MAI) by using Fractals and chaos theory. The fractal images are generated by using Iterated Function System (IFS) techniques. We implemented and generated the fractal images exploring the properties of chaos. Chaos is an unpredictable behavior arises in a dynamical system so that the future behavior is not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 10 Sep 2014 · 7,425 accessesView PDFCite
