Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleArithmetic Encoding Based Dynamic Source Routing for Ad-Hoc NetworksAjay Koul, R. B. Patel, V. K. BhatAn ad hoc network is a collection of mobile stations forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized coordinator. Routing messages are an essential component of Mobile Adhoc Networks, as each packet needs to be passed quickly through intermediate nodes from source to destination. Internal threats due to changes in the node behaviour that target the routing discovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,604 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA New Distance Based Route Maintenance Strategy for Dynamic Source Routing ProtocolMuhammad F. Sjaugi, Mohamed Othman, Mohd. Fadlee A. RasidAlthough DSR can respond a route quickly, it yields a long delay when a route is rebuilt. This is because when source node receives RERR packet, it will try to find alternative routes from the route cache. If alternative routes are not available, the source node, then, will enter route discovery phase to find new routes. We introduced a new … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 8,314 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Enhanced Dynamic Source Routing Algorithm for the Mobile Ad-Hoc Network using Reinforcement learning under the COVID-19 ConditionsEhsan Moqimi, Amir Najafi, Mojtaba AjamiToday, the use of computer networks is evident in all walks of life, including mobile phones, vehicles, personal computers, the workplace and more. Creating and operating networks between each of the above-mentioned devices require good infrastructure to be able to communicate between these devices. To solve this problem, there were networks called ad-hoc networks, which were able to network with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2020 · 6,994 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA New Policy for Path Selection in Dynamic Source Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksRagb O.M. Saleh, Md Yazid Mohd Saman, M. Nordin A. RahmanIn standard DSR protocol, nodes automatically discover and maintain the routes in the network by storing source routes, discovered dynamically on-demand. They maintain route caches that contain the source routes which the node is aware of. Entries are continually updated when new routes are learned and reorder the cached routes according to the traditional shortest path policy. The problem with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 17 May 2013 · 6,216 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRandom Dummy Packet Distribution Approach for Detection of Routing Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkT. Sakthivel, R. M. Chandrasekaran, S. Vijay BhanuA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) works on the assumption that mobile nodes are cooperative. On the other hand, in practical, it may not be possible due to selfish, malicious and misbehaving nodes present in the network. These nodes are capable of interrupting the communication process and there is a potential for serious performance degradation. To improve the performance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 6 Nov 2012 · 6,974 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAcknowledgment based Reputation Mechanism to Mitigate the Node Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Gopalakrishnan, V. Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: The cooperation between the nodes is essential to discover and maintain routes in mobile ad hoc network. Due to the presence of misbehaving nodes, the node cooperation is not always guaranteed as the nodes agreed during the route discovery phase. This phenomenon results in frequent network partitioning and it makes the routing process difficult. It also degrades the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAuthentication Based and Optimized Routing Technique in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksS. Varadhaganapathy, A. M. Natarajan, S. N. SivanandamProblem statement: An Ad hoc network has been defined as a self-organizing, dynamic topology network formed by a group of wireless mobile nodes. Minimal configuration, absence of infrastructure and quick deployment, would make ad hoc networks convenient for emergency situations other than military applications. In recent years, security in Ad hoc Networks as a research topic had started to receive … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,903 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Novel Routing Technique against Packet Dropping Attack in Adhoc NetworksN. Bhalaji, Sinchan banerjee, A. ShanmugamProblem Statement: Mobile adhoc networks (MANETs) were extensively used in defense and rescue applications. The dynamic topology of MANETs allows nodes to join and leave the network at any point of time. This dynamic property of MANET has rendered it vulnerable to various security attacks. Many trust establishment methods were proposed to increase the security in MANET. In this paper … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2008 · 6,582 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Adaptive Routing Algorithm for Ad hoc Mobile NetworksHamed S. Al-BdourThis research has examined the issues of routing in multi-hop wireless networks of mobile nodes without the need for any existing network infrastructure or administration. This is called ad hoc. The key point of this research article are selecting routing protocols which adapts quickly to routing changes when host movement is frequent, yet requires little or no overhead during periods … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,692 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSurvey on Mobile Ad Hoc Network Attacks and Mitigation Using Routing ProtocolsS. P. Manikandan, R. ManimegalaiMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) due to its unpredictable topology and bandwidth limitations are vulnerable to attacks. Establishing security measures and finding secure routes are the major challenges faced by MANET. Security issues faced by ad hoc networks are node authentication, insider attack and intrusion detection. Implementing security measures is challenging due to the presence of limited resources in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 1 Sep 2012 · 6,851 accessesView PDFCite
