Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHow to Document Computer NetworksSabah Al-Fedaghi, Bader BehbehaniDocumenting networks is an essential tool for troubleshooting network problems. The documentation details a network’s structure and context, serves as a reference and makes network management more effective. Complex network diagrams are hard to document and maintain and are not guaranteed to reflect reality. They contain many superficial icons (e.g., wall, screen and tower). Defining a single coherent network architecture … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 6 · 10 Jun 2020 · 7,584 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleImpacts of Application Usage and Local Hardware on the Throughput of Computer Networks with Desktop VirtualizationVitor Chaves De Oliveira, Alexandre De Assis Mota, Lia Toledo Moreira MotaCurrently, virtualization solutions are employed in the vast majority of organizations around the world. The reasons for this are the benefits gained by the approach, focusing on increases in security, availability and data integrity. These privileges are also present in a new technique, which emerges from this same concept and is called desktop virtualization. This method, compelled by these advantages, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 28 Jan 2013 · 7,117 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAccessing Applications from Multiple File Servers in a Computer NetworkJ. S.J. Daka, J. S. IsaacThis study proposes a technique of accessing applications from multiple file servers in a computer network that caters for a large user community. The technique is a step towards creating a computer network system that is simple to implement, scalable, easy to manage, transparent to the user and suitable for a university-type environment. The proposed technique has some features of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,765 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEpidemiological Models Applied to Viruses in Computer NetworksJos R.S. Piqueira, Betyna F. Navarro, Luiz H.A. MonteiroTo investigate the use of classical epidemiological models for studying computer virus propagation we described analogies between computer and population disease propagation using SIR (Susceptible-Infected-Removed) epidemiological models. By modifying these models with the introduction of anti-viral individuals we analyzed the stability of the disease free equilibrium points. Consequently, the basal virus reproduction rate gives some theoretical hints about how to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2005 · 7,574 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleApplication of Graph Theory Concepts in Computer Networks and its Suitability for the Resource Provisioning Issues in Cloud Computing-A ReviewKanniga Devi Rangaswamy, Murugaboopathi GurusamyCloud computing, a kind of web service provisioning model, provides immense benefits over traditional IT service environments with the help of virtualization technology. As cloud computing is not a fully matured paradigm, it poses many open issues to be addressed. The key research problem in cloud computing is efficient resource provisioning which is due to its complex and distributed architecture. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 2 · 18 Jan 2018 · 8,984 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleRandom Forests for Online Intrusion Detection in Computer NetworksHeitor Scalco Neto, Wilian Soares Lacerda, Rafael Verão FrançozoThis study proposes a methodology to build an Online Network Intrusion Detection System by using the Computational Intelligence technique called Random Forests and an API to preprocess the network packets. The experiments were carried out from two network traffic databases: The ISCX (i); and a test database (ii) created with the proposed API in our own network environment. The results … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 10 · 19 Oct 2021 · 6,955 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Backpropagation Neural Network for Computer Network SecurityKhalil ShihabIn this paper, an efficient and scalable technique for computer network security is presented. On one hand, the decryption scheme and the public key creation used in this work are based on a multi-layer neural network that is trained by backpropagation learning algorithm. On the other hand, the encryption scheme and the private key creation process are based on Boolean … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2006 · 19,535 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleStrength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm based Multi-Objective Optimization for Shortest Path Routing Problem in Computer NetworksSubbaraj Potti, Chitra ChinnasamyProblem statement: A new multi-objective approach, Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA), is presented in this paper to solve the shortest path routing problem. The routing problem is formulated as a multi-objective mathematical programming problem which attempts to minimize both cost and delay objectives simultaneously. Approach: SPEA handles the shortest path routing problem as a true multi-objective optimization problem with competing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 8,216 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFeatures of the Security System Development of a Computer Telecommunication NetworkLeonid Chervyakov, Tagirbek Aslanov, Dmitry Polezhaev, Viktor LysenkoGlobal computer networks have enabled ordinary users, companies, organizations and medical institutions to gain virtually unlimited access to data arrays. Therefore, developing systems capable of ensuring the good performance and secure operation of a standard Computer Telecommunication Network (CTN) has become one of the most pressing tasks demanded in the medical industry. Consequently, this study aims to create an ordered … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 9 · 20 Jun 2024 · 4,725 accessesView PDFCite
