Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsIrrationality in the Neoclassical Definition of RationalitySteve KeenIn this study we are not arguing that competition as it actually occurs in practice is not socially beneficial. Our criticism is directed instead at the false belief that rational profit-maximizing behavior and competition as defined by neoclassical economic theory will lead to a welfare-maximizing outcome-again, as defined by neoclassical theory. …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 13 · 18 Dec 2005 · 8,304 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCooling Load Prediction in the Under-Actuated Zone with Multilayer Perceptron Artificial Neural NetworkYaddarabullah, Aedah Abd Rahman, Amna SaadThis study focuses on addressing the challenge of predicting cooling loads in under-actuated zones, where the variability in occupant behavior, environmental conditions, and electronic usage creates complex dynamics. Traditional models like Support Vector Regression (SVR) and E-Lastic-Net (ELN) often struggle to capture these non-linear relationships, leading to inefficient Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) management and increased energy consumption. To … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 27 Jan 2025 · 5,306 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTransverse Velocity, Transverse Boundary Shear Stress and Flow Deviation in Meandering Open ChannelsYoussef Ismail HafezThis study presents a novel approach for characterizing the mechanics of flow in mildly meandering open channels, specifically focusing on the development of a new vertical distribution equation for transverse velocity. Unlike existing equations in the literature that rely on complex logarithmic or integral forms or infinite series forms, which are impractical for hydraulic engineers, the proposed equation employs ordinary … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 20, Issue 1 · 25 Jul 2024 · 5,064 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMechatronics Around the World - at a GlanceRachita Sharma, Bhaskar DhimanIncreasing performance standards for complex procedures, which includes business equipment and their steadily growing technical importance, might require new processes to be applied within the procedure of product advent. The important thing concept in the back of our proposed approach is to combine one of a kind stages consisting of design, simulation and physical implementations in product or device advent. … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 12 Feb 2021 · 7,809 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractControlling Chaos of the Ricker Population Model by OGY MethodGuo FengThe chaotic dynamics of the Ricker mapping are studied. Controlling chaos of the Ricker population model is searched by OGY control method. The dynamic behavior in the Ricker mapping is very complex in different values of a. When the value of a is changed from 0.455 to 90, the mapping goes through doubling bifurcation to Neimark-Sacker bifurcation. Several strange attractors … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 16, Issue 3 · 8 Sep 2020 · 6,219 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractON THE RELIABILITY OF REYNOLDS-AVERAGED NAVIER STOKES PREDICTION OF MEAN FLOW CHARACTERISTICS OF A RECTANGULAR TURBULENT JET IN CROSSFLOWE. Khali, Y. F. YaoA jet of fluid discharging into a cross stream, also known as Jet In Crossflow (JICF), has received many experimental and numerical investigations. In addition to the fundamental understanding of three-dimensional mixing and shear flow characteristics, the fluid dynamics research community often regarded it as a benchmark test case for validating turbulence models. Although many authors considered the canonical case … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2014 · 6,960 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExperimenting the Simulation Strategy of Membrane Computing with Gillespie Algorithm by Using Two Biological Case StudiesRavie Chandren Muniyandi, Abdullah Mohd ZinProblem statement: The evolution rules of membrane computing have been applied in a nondeterministic and maximally parallel way. In order to capture these characteristics, Gillespie’s algorithm has been used as simulation strategy of membrane computing in simulating biological systems. Approach: This study was carried to discuss the simulation strategy of membrane computing with Gillespie algorithm in comparison to the simulation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 5 · 31 May 2010 · 6,943 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordFusarium Wilt of Banana: Challenges and ResilienceShanta Adhikary, Mridula Rahman, Mrinmoy Kundu et al.Banana, as the world's most consumed fruits, are an essential staple crop for nearly 400 million people, boasting a plethora of nutrients crucial for digestive health, gut microbiome balance, and post-exercise recovery. Despite their nutritional significance, the emergence of Fusarium wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense (Foc), threatens banana cultivation worldwide. This soil-borne fungus exhibits polycyclic behavior, persisting in … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 24, Issue 4 · 6 Jul 2024 · 6,554 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordManagement of Beef Cattle Production in Malaysia: A Step Forward to SustainabilityIbragimov Abdulla, Fatimah Mohamed Arshad, B.K. Bala et al.The beef cattle industry recorded progressive growth in the last two decades. Despite this growth, suppliers are having difficulty to meet the domestic demand for beef. Continued strong growth of beef cattle production capacity depends on supplier profitability, which in turn will be influenced by primarily on availability of feedstuffs that constitutes a large proportion of the cost of production. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 9 · 16 Sep 2016 · 8,286 accessesView PDFCite
