Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsQuery Pattern-based Relational Data to XML Data Translation AlgorithmJinhyung Kim, Dongwon Jeong, Doo-Kwon BaikThis paper proposes a new query pattern-based relational schema-to-XML schema translation (QP-T) algorithm to resolve implicit referential integrity issue. Various translation methods have been introduced on structural aspects and/or semantic aspects. However, most of conventional methods consider only explicit referential integrities specified by relational schema. It causes several problems such as incorrect transformation, abnormal relational model transition and so on. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,188 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Learning Mechanism to Improve Skills Acquisition for Autistic Children in MauritaniaCheikhne Mohamed Mahmoud Seyidi, Cheikhane Seyed, Mohamed El Moustapha El Arby et al.The learning of autistic children is an issue for care and treatment centers for children with autism spectrum disorder, however many studies seek to find learning mechanisms and models in order to facilitate their social integration. The aim of this study is to propose a learning mechanism based on the analysis and annotation of a corpus video filmed during the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 9 · 23 Aug 2023 · 5,618 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNormalized Relational Storage for Extensible Markup Language (XML) SchemaKamsuriah Ahmad, Reduan SamadProblem statement: The use of XML as the common formats for representing, exchanging, storing, integrating and accessing data posses many new challenges to database systems. Most of application data are stored in relational databases due to its popularity and rich development experiences over it. Therefore, how to provide a proper mapping approach from XML model to relational model become the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 11 · 24 Aug 2011 · 6,838 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Middleware for Storing and Querying XML Data in Relational Database Management SystemMohammed Adam Ibrahim Fakheraldien, Jasni Mohamad Zain, Norrozila SulaimanProblem statement: In this study, we propose a middleware that provides a transformation utility for storing and querying XML data in relational databases using model mapping method. Approach: To store XML documents in RDBMS, several mapping approaches can be used. We chose structure independent approach. In this middleware the model mapping method XParent and free of cost available technologies MYSQL, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 26 Feb 2011 · 7,605 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractModeling Projects in E-Learning Course: A Case of an Information Technology ProjectMohammed Ghaouth Belkasmi, Toumi Bouchentouf, Mostafa Azizi, Abdelhamid BenazziProblem statement: Achieving projects is primordial in the process of teaching in several disciplines, particularly software engineering courses. However, proposing this learning activity in a context of e-learning is not automatically guaranteed by the current platforms, even unsupported by the existing standards for creating educational content. Approach: Through this study, starting from the model developed in the “XESOP-Jaxe” project to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,958 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTowards An XML-Based Normalization for Healthcare Data ExchangesI. El Azami, M. M.O. Cherkaoui, C. TahonProblem statement: Most of healthcare data exchanges are textual, poorly structured and often not accessible by clinical professionals. Otherwise, the variety of medical applications and medical standards makes difficult sharing and communicating healthcare data in a highly heterogeneous environment. Approach: XML and related standards (XML schema, XSL) provided an infrastructure that might change the situation. Our aim in this study … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 7,402 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExtending the Concepts of Normalization from Relational Databases to Extensible-Markup-Language Databases ModelH.J. F. El-SofanyIn this study we have studied the problem of how to extend the concepts of Functional Dependency (FD) and normalization in relational databases to include the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) model. We shown that, like relational databases, XML documents may contain redundant information and this redundancy may cause update anomalies. Furthermore, such problems are caused by certain functional dependencies among … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2008 · 6,461 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordCOMPARING THE PERFORMANCE OF SEMANTIC IMAGE RETRIEVAL USING SPARQL QUERY, DECISION TREE ALGORITHM AND LIREMagesh, ThangarajThe ontology based framework is developed for representing image domain. The textual features of images are extracted and annotated as the part of the ontology. The ontology is represented in Web Ontology Language (OWL) format which is based on Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Resource Description Framework Schema (RDFS). Internally, the RDF statements represent an RDF graph which provides the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 8 Jul 2013 · 6,705 accessesView PDFCite
