Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleREDUCING CALL BLOCKING PROBABILITY IN HYBRID MULTICAST WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING NETWORKS USING WEIGHTED ROUTING AND WAVELENGTH ASSIGNMENT ALGORITHMD. V. Pradeep Sankar, K. MuneeswaranIn the proposed work, the focus is on increasing the available wavelength in the all-optical networks, for which the Routing and Wavelength Assignment plays a vital role. In the earlier reported work, the wavelengths were assigned to the links which covers a set of destinations but not all the intended destinations. However this proposed work, attempts were made to create … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 13 Nov 2013 · 6,849 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleImpact of Four Wave Mixing (FWM) in Routing and Wavelength AssignmentTan Saw Chin, F.M. Abbou, Ewe Hong TatThe impact of Four-Wave-Mixing (FWM) is investigated using the proposed Assign Shortest Path First (ASPF) algorithm for wavelength assignment in Routing and Wavelength Assignment (RWA). Results show that ASPF algorithm indulges more FWM crosstalk in high optical channels for all input light power and low input power able to reduce he effect of FWM. The blocking probability due to FWM … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,753 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEVALUATION OF HIDDEN MARKOV MODEL BASED ADAPTIVE PROVISIONING OF OPTICAL BURST SWITCHING NETWORKS AMENABLE FOR UPGRADATION TO GREEN FLEXIGRID NETWORKSP. G.V. Ramesh, Prita NairCatering to the evolving bandwidth-on-demand applications requires flexible provisioning architectures that ensure fairness to both high end and low end users of internet. Dynamic classification of network paths into long and short, based on traffic dependent connection holding times and a wavelength allocation from different subsets for these categories is a necessity for implementing energy saving hybrid switching, loss recovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 5 · 16 Jan 2014 · 6,517 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNEW BURST ASSEMBLY AND SCHEDULING TECHNIQUE FOR OPTICAL BURST SWITCHING NETWORKSV. Kavitha, V. PalanisamyThe Optical Burst Switching is a new switching technology that efficiently utilizes the bandwidth in the optical layer. The key areas to be concentrated in Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks are the burst assembly and burst scheduling i.e., assignment of wavelengths to the incoming bursts. This study presents a New Burst Assembly and Scheduling (NBAS) technique in a simultaneous multipath … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 6 Jul 2013 · 6,944 accessesView PDF Cite
