Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEnhanced Utility Accrual Scheduling Algorithms for Adaptive Real Time SystemIdawaty Ahmad, Muhammad Fauzan OthmanProblem statement: This study proposed two utility accrual real time scheduling algorithms named as Preemptive Utility Accrual Scheduling (PUAS) and Non-preemptive Utility Accrual Scheduling (NUAS) algorithms. These algorithms addressed the unnecessary abortion problem that was identified in the existing algorithm known as General Utility Scheduling (GUS). It is observed that GUS is inefficient for independent task model because it simply … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2009 · 6,352 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Discrete Event Simulation Framework for Utility Accrual Scheduling Algorithm in Uniprocessor EnvironmentIdawaty Ahmad, Shamala Subramaniam, Mohamed Othman, Zuriati ZulkarnainProblem statement: The heterogeneity in the choice of simulation platforms for real time scheduling stands behind the difficulty of developing a common simulation environment. A Discrete Event Simulation (DES) for a real time scheduling domain encompassing event definition, time advancing mechanism and scheduler has yet to be developed. Approach: The study focused on the proposed and the development of an … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 7,224 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEnhanced Preemptive Global Utility Accrual Real Time Scheduling Algorithms in Multicore EnvironmentIdawaty Ahmad, Mohamed Othman, Zuriati Ahmad ZulkarnainThis paper proposed an efficient real time scheduling algorithm using global scheduling paradigm running in multicore environment known as Global Preemptive Utility Accrual Scheduling (GPUAS) algorithm. The existing TUF/UA multiprocessor scheduling algorithms known as Greedy-Global Utility Accrual (G-GUA) and Non Greedy-Global Utility Accrual (NG-GUA) algorithms is seen to overlook the efficiency on its task scheduling algorithm. These algorithms have adapted … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 12 · 11 Feb 2016 · 6,390 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Backward Recovery Mechanism in Preemptive Utility Accrual Real Time Scheduling AlgorithmIdawaty Ahmad, Muhammad Fauzan OthmanProblem statement: This study proposed a robust algorithm named as Backward Recovery Preemptive Utility Accrual Scheduling (BRPUAS) algorithm that implements the Backward Recovery (BR) mechanism as a fault recovery solution under the existing utility accrual scheduling environment. The problem identified in the TUF/UA scheduling domain is that the existing algorithms only considers the Abortion Recovery (AR) as their fault recovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,827 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformances of Partition Utility Accrual Real Time Scheduling AlgorithmIdawaty Ahmad, Shamala Subramaniam, Mohamed Othman, Zuriati ZulkarnainProblem statement: This study proposed a TUF/UA real time scheduling algorithm known as Partition Preemptive Utility Accrual Scheduling (PUAS) also known as PPUAS algorithm. This algorithm addressed the overloaded problem that was identified in a uniprocessor scheduling environment and the necessity to design the scheduling algorithm in a multiprocessor environment. Approach: The PUAS algorithm was enhanced into the partitioned multiprocessor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 12 Jul 2012 · 7,009 accessesView PDF Cite
