Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFrequency Extended-MUSIC Method for DOA Estimation in Indoor IR-UWB EnvironmentHajer Meknessi, Ferid Harrabi, Ali GharsallahIn recent years, many researchers have been developed in order to ensure an accurate localization. So many techniques have been used the direction of arrival to estimate and track of IR-UWB signals. In this study, we propose a new direction of arrival estimation method for impulse radio UWB signals. This technique based on Extended-Music algorithm. The proposed method has high … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 4 · 8 Apr 2016 · 7,285 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Novel Linear Array Antenna Based on UWB Slot AntennaFaten Ben Ghenaya, Ridha Ghayoula, Ali GharsallahThis paper introduces the novel Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) antennas for UWB applications. We used two different structures, the first is fed by micro-strip line and the second is a compact coplanar waveguide fed planar slot antenna. These designs are a small on planar antenna. The substrate used is FR4 that have the characteristics following: Permittivity εr = 4.4 Impulse Radio … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 3 · 25 Mar 2016 · 7,431 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEnergy Efficiency Analysis of a TR-UWB SystemAdil El Abboubi, Fouzia Elbahhar, Marc Heddebaut et al.In wireless communications, where sensors operate on batteries, the energy consumption must be reduced while considering the communication range and data rate requirements. In this context we analyze and compare, in this study, the UWB and TR-UWB system in terms of the total energy consumption. So, for that, we develop an analytical model to estimate the energy consumption of a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 1 · 15 Feb 2016 · 7,317 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA LOW-COST EFFECTIVE UWB LOCATION SYSTEM BASED ON FREQUENCY SYNTHESIS TECHNOLOGYQilong Zhang, Fei QinWireless location system based on UWB signals has been widely utilized by wireless network recently, especially for the indoor scenarios where GPS signal has been heavily attenuated. However, due to the requirement of ultra wideband signals, existing location system usually faces problems including complexity, robust and cost, which limit the potential applications. In this study, we propose a new approach … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 26 Dec 2014 · 7,633 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleUltra Wide Band (UWB) Ad-hoc Networks: Review and TrendsRashid Saeed, Sabira Khatun, Borhanuddin M. Ali, Mohd K. AbduallahShort-range wireless systems have recently gained a lot of attention to provide seamless, multimedia communications around a user-centric concept in so called Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN). Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology presents itself as a good candidate for the Physical Layer (PHY) of WPAN, both for high and low data rate applications. Many ongoing developments of Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) system … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2005 · 7,060 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsNEURO FUZZY BASED PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF MULTIBAND ULTRA WIDE BAND ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING SYSTEMG. Joselin Retna Kumar, K. S. ShajiThis study proposes an efficient channel-estimation scheme for Multiband (MB) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-based Ultra Wide Band (UWB) communication systems. One of the challenges in wireless system is the frequency selective fading caused due to multipath channel between the transmitter and receiver. The signal bandwidth in broad band cellular wireless systems typically exceeds the coherence bandwidth of the multipath … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 5 Mar 2014 · 6,616 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsANALYSIS AND SOLUTION FOR MULTI-BAND ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY-DIVISION MULTIPLEXING ULTRA WIDE BAND SYSTEM IN REAL ENVIRONMENT FOR VEHICLE TO INFRASTRUCTURE APPLICATIONSanaa Kabil, Raja Elassali, Fouzia Elbahhar et al.Many researches in the world deal with driving on the road to ensure optimum safety. In this context, several telecommunication technologies are often used to connect the vehicles via continuous wireless communication with the infrastructure, exchange data and information relevant to increase overall road safety and enable cooperative traffic management. These systems are not reliable for all situations and the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 5 Sep 2013 · 7,009 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsBER Performance and Data Throughput of Sinusoidal Template-Based Impulse-Radio Ultra Wideband Receivers for Wireless Body Area NetworksMohamad Abou El-Nasr, Heba ShabanWindowed sinusoidal template-based correlator receivers are good candidates for high-data rate low-power Ultra Wideband (UWB) systems. Their performance approaches the performance of optimal detectors and provides low-power consumption. However, the ultra short pulses of UWB technology makes it sensitive to timing-errors. In this paper, the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) performance and maximum allowable data throughput of Equally-Correlated Pulse Position Modulation (EC-PPM) modulation … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 5 · 30 May 2013 · 6,503 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImpulse Radio Ultra Wide Band Based Mobile Adhoc Network Routing Performance AnalysisM. Sreedhar, C. VenkateshThis study presents with the routing overhead analysis of impulse radio - Ultra Wide Band based wireless networks which Employs Dynamic Nature Routing (EDNR) method for determining and selecting the stable route in Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET). This method requires only two sample packets and uses piggyback information on Route-Request (RREQ) and Route-Reply (RREP) packets during a route-discovery procedure. Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSymbol Timing Estimation in Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing based Ultrawide band SystemM. N. Suresh, S. J. Thiruvengadam, V. AbhaikumarProblem statement: The Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) Based Ultra Wideband system (UWB) is highly susceptible to symbol timing error. Symbol timing estimation in MB-OFDM based UWB is difficult due to the presence of strongest path at delayed instant. Approach: Symbol timing estimation has two steps namely a coarse estimation and a fine estimation. In this study, a maximum … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 10 Feb 2012 · 7,101 accessesView PDFCite
