Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Proficient Traceback Approach Using Provincial Locality Aspects to Eliminate Denial of Service AttacksS. Periyasamy, K. DuraiswamyA Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack, a menace to the availability of resources and service to the intended user, is usually by augmenting the traffic in the communication medium. These attacks originate in either ways, internal or external to a network with the aim to suspend the legitimate user from getting his/her service. The DoS attacks have been countered through various approaches, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 12 Apr 2013 · 6,026 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleGeographical Division Traceback for Distributed Denial of ServiceA. Viswanathan, V. P. Arunachalam, S. KarthikProblem statement: Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) was a serious threat to the internet world that denies the legitimate users from being access the internet by blocking the service. Approach: In this study, we proposed a novel approach, Geographical Division Traceback (GDT) for efficient IP traceback and DDoS defense methodology. Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThree Dimensional Multidirectional Geographical IP Traceback: Direction Ratio Sampling AlgorithmA. Rajiv Kannan, K. Duraiswamy, K. SangeethaProblem statement: An important and challenging problem is that of tracing DOS/DDOS attack source. IP traceback is the process of identifying the actual source(s) of attack packets, So that the attackers can be held accountable as also in mitigating them, either by isolating the attack sources or by filtering packets for away from the victim. Several IP traceback schemes have … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 7,233 accessesView PDF Cite

RavichandranProblem Statement: Denial of Service/Distributed Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks deny regular, internet services from being accessed by legitimate users, either by blocking the services completely, or by disturbing it completely, so as to cause customer baulking. Approach: Several traceback schemes were available to mitigate these attacks.
