Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Improved TCP Connection Protocol over Wireless Mobile Networks with Mobile Nodes HandoffMaen M. Al AssafProblem Statement: This study proposes a TCP layer protocol (Div-TCP) that aims to give a solution for communication over wireless mobile networks that have the occurrence of handoff at anytime. It describes a topology of wireless mobile network and the handoff process as an ordinary process in that type of networks which may cause segments losses. Approach: Wireless mobile networks … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,675 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCongestion Control in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks by Enhancement of Transmission Control ProtocolN. Premalatha, A. M. NatarajanProblem statement: Transmission Control Protocol is the Internet’s most widely used transport control protocol. TCP’s strength lies in the adaptive nature of its congestion avoidance and control algorithm and its retransmission mechanism. In TCP Vegas rerouting (a path), which change the propagation delay of the connection and this may be able to result in a substantial decrease in through put. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,688 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCaller Line Identity Delivery: A Computerized Call Alert ApplicationZoubir HamiciThe subject of this study was to analyze the Frequency Shift Keying caller ID FSK transmission protocol used by Jordan Telecom. and implement a call alert computer application. An FSK decoder is presented and a decoding algorithm based on asynchronous data communication is discussed. Data is captured through the RS232 serial port and a 32-bit software is presented as a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 19 Oct 2005 · 4,906 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLoss Discrimination Algorithm for Wired/Wireless NetworksLiw Jia Seng, Mohd Noor Derahman, Azizol AbdullahProblem statement: Wireless technology has far growing with an increasing demand of the Wireless networking technologies recent years. The wireless access network and cellular networks are being used to support their need. It is usually connected to a wired backbone network. TCP is used to handle the congestion in wired network. However, it is not well suited for hybrid network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 7,498 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEmpirical Investigation of TCP Incast Congestion in Wireless Cloud Computing NetworksHamid Sadeq Mahdi Alsultani, Qusay Kanaan, Inteasar Yaseen KhudhairThe promising services offered by cloud computing environments have led to huge amount of data that need to be processed and stored. Wireless cloud networks rely on Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) for reliable transfer of data traffic between the cloud end-users and servers and vise-versa. Even though TCP has been successful for several applications, it, however, does not perform … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 5 · 3 Mar 2018 · 7,520 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Handover in WiMax with TCP and UDP as Underlying ProtocolKaram Dhafer Mayoof, Rosilah Hassan, Amjed Sid Ahmed, Ahmed MarwanThe rejection of an ongoing connection/session is serious problem and it degrades the QoS and efficiency of the network rather than rejecting a request for new connection. The impact on performance of handovers is a serious problem in cellular systems that must be addressed. During handover there may be delay in packets and connections may drop. Real time applications i.e., … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 12 Dec 2015 · 7,244 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAN APPLICATION SPECIFIC WINDOWS MANAGEMENT INSTRUMENTATION ARCHITECTURE FOR IMPROVING PERFORMANCE ON WIRELESS NETWORKLavanya Sankara Narayanan, Murali Baskaran VenugopalWireless Communications is one of the fastest growing segments in the communications industry. Wireless Network is the network that facilitates communication among two or more computers connected through the standard network protocols, without network cabling. Generally, the Wireless Network is termed as Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). A WLAN is a collection of network components connected by electromagnetic (radio) waves … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 28 Nov 2013 · 6,947 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBehaviour Based Worm Detection and Signature AutomationMohammed Anbar, Selvakumar Manickam, Al-Samarraie Hosam et al.Problem statement: A worm is a malicious piece of code that self-propagates, often via network connections, to exploit security flaws in computers connected through the network. In general, worms do not need any human intervention to propagate and are considered a real threat to network assets and the properties of organizations. An Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) are employed to detect … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 11 · 6 Sep 2011 · 6,895 accessesView PDFCite
