Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDistributed and Parallel Decision Forest for Human Activities Prediction: Experimental Analysis on HAR-Smartphones DatasetBudi Padmaja, Venkata Rama Prasad Vaddella, Kota Venkata Naga SunithaSensor-based human motion detection requires the subtle amount of knowledge about various human activities from fitted sensor observations and readings. The prevalent pattern recognition methodologies have made immense progress over recent years. Nonetheless, these kind of methods usually rely on the particular heuristic variable extraction, which could inhibit generalization realization. This paper presents a distributed and parallel decision forest approach … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 5 · 11 May 2019 · 7,392 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHuman Activity Recognition at the Edge: A Systematic Review of Machine Learning Models, Deployment Constraints, and Latency Energy Accuracy Trade offsJose Antonio Rojas Guillén, Wini Ebelin Quispe Bautista, Arturo Gamarra MorenoHuman Activity Recognition (HAR) has become a key component of intelligent healthcare monitoring, assisted living, sports analytics, smart environments, and wearable computing. However, the migration of HAR models from cloud-centered architectures to edge, embedded, mobile, and wearable platforms introduces constraints related to computational capacity, memory footprint, battery consumption, inference time, and real-time responsiveness. This study presents a systematic literature review … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 8 · 7 Sep 2026 · 593 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Comparative Analysis of IoT Security Frameworks With BIoTCGaurav Vats, Sarvesh Tanwar, Pankaj Kumar SharmaThe Internet of Things (IoT) has reshaped the modern intelligent environments, but it remains vulnerable to sophisticated attacks such as Man-in-the-Middle (MITM), RFID cloning, unauthorized access, and social engineering. Block Internet of Things Chain (BIoTC) introduces a simulation-based approach to address these security issues. While various frameworks have been proposed to secure IoT systems, most of them fall short in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 3 · 28 Mar 2026 · 1,474 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Optimized Multi-Layer Perceptron Framework for Detecting and Classifying IoT AttacksSanchit Vashisht, Shalli RaniThe Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing industries by connecting billions of smart devices, enabling automation and information exchange. The expansion of IoT ecosystems has simultaneously increased the surface area for cyberattacks. These environments are particularly vulnerable to a wide range of threats, such as Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS), poisoning, brute-force SSH intrusions, and various network reconnaissance techniques. The dynamic nature … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 12 · 11 Feb 2026 · 1,333 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimized YOLOv8 for Insect Detection in Agricultural Farms Using Edge Vision SystemsDeebalakshmi R., Adhithyaa S., Yoga Vignesh V., Balaji Ganesh RajagopalFarmers started to adopt smart gadgets like automated pest detection and kiosks for their work in light of the AI revolution in agriculture. These kinds of technologies help farmers identify pest infestations early, which allows the farmers to take action accordingly and prevent crop loss. This results in improvement in both yield and sustainability. However, running an advanced model such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 11 · 28 Jan 2026 · 2,640 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstract4D Printing: Technology Overview and Smart Materials UtilizedAntreas Kantaros, Theodore Ganetsos, Dimitrios Piromalis4D printing is a cutting-edge technology that allows for the creation of dynamic, self-assembling structures by utilizing cutting edge, newly introduced smart materials. It builds upon traditional 3D printing by adding the dimension of time, allowing printed objects to change shape or behavior over time. This is achieved through the use of smart materials, such as shape memory alloys or … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 13 Mar 2023 · 14,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIoT-Based Waste Height and Weight Monitoring SystemTedi Gunawan, Elis Hernawati, Bayu Rima AdityaOver the past decade, the use of smart waste monitoring systems has become a popular way of waste management. This system generally makes it easier for scavengers and household users to monitor the status of the level of waste in the trash. This study aims to create an innovative IoT-based intelligent waste monitoring system to facilitate waste monitoring for households. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 11 · 29 Nov 2021 · 9,374 accessesView PDFCite
